Both Leicester and Fulham face being left out of the party after a run of winless matches which has seen clubs ahead of them pull away.

As the home side, Fulham must seek victory here, despite playing a top four side, as they cannot afford the seven-point gap between them and Premier League survival to grow any further.

Scott Parker’s side showed signs of recovery a few weeks ago, though have stumbled once again recently without a win in nine matches. Brighton, who are a place higher, have won two of their last five to increase the level of panic in the Fulham camp.

Leicester also face being cut adrift near the top of the table, particularly with Liverpool rediscovering their form of late and overtaking The Foxes at the weekend.

With teams such as West Ham and Spurs aiming for a top four place themselves, Leicester won’t want to drop further points here.

Fulham FC Preview

Form Guide (all comps): LLLDD

Reasons to be cheerful:

Just one defeat in eight matches

Have a game in hand on the teams above

Reasons to be fearful:

     Struggling to pick up victories

Confidence could be dented by growing gap to safety

Although seven points behind Brighton and safety, Fulham will point to their game in hand advantage as a reason for remaining optimistic, particularly in the London club can pull string of results together.

Unfortunately, their next three fixtures are against three of the most improved teams in the league over the last season or two, with this match against Leicester followed by West Ham and Everton.

The Cottagers remain difficult to beat, with Spurs, Southampton and Liverpool among the teams to secure three points against them recently. But wins are the order of the day here, with anything less than three points providing other teams the opportunity of taking advantage.

Fortunately, there are no new injury concerns for Parker’s side, with Mitrovic and Lookman likely to lead the line again here.

Star Man – Bobby Decordova-Reid

Is one of Fulham’s most consistent performers this season, having played a role in 35% of The Cottagers’ goals.

Leicester City Preview

Form Guide (all comps): WWWDL

Reasons to be cheerful:

Ricardo Pereira in line to make a comeback after injury

Away form is one of the best in the league

Reasons to be fearful:

Ndidi and Vardy unlikely to be risked due to injury

Lost their last game to Fulham

Leicester are unlikely to panic after going two games without a win, though it does mean they’ve dropped a place in the table, and further points behind leaders Manchester City.

Fulham don’t have the greatest form in the world, but they are determined and well-organised and likely to frustrate Leicester at times. The Foxes must also cope with the continued absence of Jamie Vardy, while Wilfred Ndidi is also likely to miss out through injury.

Replacements up front, such as Iheanacho and Perez only have five goals between them this season, and manager Brendan Rodgers will be demanding more from his squad players to step up when required.

With other teams around Leicester picking up points, they cannot really afford another slip up here.

Star Man – Harvey Barnes

The youngster is having a wonderful season, and with 11 goals is only two behind Jamie Vardy currently.

     Leicester will dominate possession

Fulham are an organised side and will frustrate the Foxes

     Goals at both ends

We’ve seen the sides near the top of the table come unstuck against teams at the bottom quite often this season, and this has the look of a potential banana skin for Leicester.

They must play with intensity, but also with patience. They won’t have the pace in behind that Jamie Vardy brings, so will need to play with a little more subtlety in and around the box which the likes of Barnes and Maddison can provide.

Leicester are favourites here, but Fulham can certainly cause problems.

Leicester to win 2-1
