When these sides first met this season, we were treated to a brilliant display of attacking football, with the game ending 4-3 in favour of Leeds.

Both teams have gone on quite the journey since then, especially Fulham, who have spent much of the following six months inside the bottom three and, at one point, looking as though they would be heading straight back down.

They are a changed team, however. They haven’t scored three goals in a game since, but they are now a much harder side to break down, and have picked up a knack of drawing matches they would have otherwise lost.

As for Leeds, they’ve gone from being a side who were just as likely to win a high scoring game to lose one, to now struggling completely for form, with the club sitting adrift in 12th place. 

While completely safe this season, they will surely be disappointed at being unable to go further up the table this season.

Reasons to be cheerful:

     Last five defeats have come against top six teams

     Have lost just one of their last eight home games vs. Leeds

Reasons to be fearful:

     They’ve lost nine games at home this season, the second highest in the league

     No side has scored fewer home goals

For Fulham to come so close to survival, it would be heartbreaking for them to let it slip now.

Admittedly, their defeat last weekend was expected, and in actual fact they have only lost games against the top six recently, so should be confident against a Leeds side in 12th place.

Leeds are also a side whom Fulham have enjoyed a good record over recently, with just one defeat stretching back over the last eight games together. The London team have also kept clean sheets in all of their home matches against their Yorkshire rivals.

Normally, they would need to up their goals tally against Leeds, a team who are famous for scoring plenty of goals, but right now that is not the case.

Scott Parker will not change his style here – being difficult to beat and trying to edge the win would do him nicely.

     Striker Patrick Bamford is expected to be fit

     Taken 21 points from possible 24 against teams below them

Reasons to be fearful:

     Failed to score in four of their previous five league games

     Winless in three matches, their worst run of the season

Leeds are no strangers to being on the losing side this season – their 14 defeats is the 3rd worst record in the league, with only the bottom two clubs suffering more.

Unfortunately, this is their worst run of the season, having not won any of their last three matches, with their league position slipping from 10th to 12th in that time.

In truth, that’s a mark of how well Leeds have done as a newly promoted side, that three games constitutes their worst form of the season. For comparison, their opponents have gone 12 games without victory at one stage.

Fortunately, striker Patrick Bamford should be fit to lead the line, despite picking up a knock against Chelsea last week.

With a 10 point gap to relegation, the Yorkshire club are safe this season, but will want to reignite their campaign with 10 games to go.
