A defensive error while defending a set-piece cost the Nizam the game against Mumbai City FC. The 29th minute literally took the wind out of the sails of the Nizams as they succumbed to their sixth defeat of the season and second in a row.  After the match, Hyderabad’s coach highlighted the need for showing more intensity on the pitch. He added, “When you are trailing, there needs to be urgency, a bit more tempo, and speed. I understand the players were tired, but we need to work on playing with more intensity when behind.”

 What needs to be done? 

For starters, the Nizams have to be more careful in defence, especially while defending set pieces. Secondly, they need to find ways to get the ball to the target men—Alan Paulista/Edmilson. Paulista in the game against Mumbai managed only 12 touches playing for 60-plus minutes. Overall, they managed only three shots, with two on target.

The duo has accounted for 12 of the 17 goals scored by the side in the ISL 2024/25.

What to expect ? 

In the match against Kerala, the Gaurs were more focused on defending, especially in the second half where the former dominated the Guard with 10 to 6 shots. However, with Sadiku and Herrera back in the starting 11, one would expect the Gaurs to go hard at the Nizams and score a lot more than they managed against the Blasters.
