Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur FC Match Prediction & Analysis

Tottenham’s win over Manchester City last weekend revealed as many flaws in Pep Guardiola’s team as it did qualities in Spurs’ squad.

Without Antonio Conte in the dugout, due to an operation he has since recovered from, many felt that Manchester City would power through the home side. It didn’t work out that way and Spurs close in on 4th place.

With three wins on the bounce in all competitions, could Spurs have finally found some consistency? A win here could take them into the top four.

Leicester claimed a vital away win over Aston Villa recently, one that took many by surprise. Although Villa took the lead twice, Leicester found a way to comeback and eventually win 4-2.

They’ll be looking to continue their improvement here.

Many Leicester fans were unhappy at their club’s lack of transfer business in the summer, something which has probably led to their dismal start to the season.

Three new signings in the January transfer window, however, and suddenly things start to look a little brighter for the club. 

Harry Souttar scored an unfortunate own goal against Villa, although Victor Kristiansen was solid at left-back and Tete scored a fine goal on his debut.

The question is whether the Foxes can continue that performance into this game. They haven’t shown any consistency so far this season and with their poor record against Spurs, you wonder if they can here.

Leicester’s star player keeps producing the goods for the club, although it looks ever more likely that he will leave in the summer. His goal against Villa means he now has eight for the season.

The question on the lips of Tottenham fans right now is whether that win over Manchester City is the start of something special, or is it just a flash in the pan?

Spurs have beaten City at home on several occasions over the last few years and yet they haven’t been able to use that as a starting point up until now. 

Make no mistake, however, it was arguably the best that Spurs have looked this season. If they claim victory in this game against Leicester, they could move back into the top four.

They also have a superb record over the Foxes over the years, winning five in a row. If they win here, they will have to do so without Hugo Lloris, who is injured for six weeks, and Christian Romero, who was sent off against City.
