After the celebration and jubilation of winning the FA Cup and beating Chelsea in the process, Leicester now face the bitter disappointment of missing out on a Champions League spot on the final day for the second season in a row.

By losing to Chelsea in the league, Leicester have dropped down to 5th place, and require a mistake from either Chelsea or 4th place Liverpool on the final day of the season to rise back up into the top four.

They must first win their own fixture, a potentially tricky one against Tottenham at that. 

Spurs have also dropped down a place in the league table recently, with a defeat to Aston Villa in their last game ensuring that West Ham could rise above them into a Europa League position.

A 7th place finish would be disappointing for Spurs fans, particularly with all the talk in the papers revolving around Harry Kane’s future at the club.

     Spurs won’t be an easy game in which to claim victory

If you were to give Leicester fans a choice of either winning the FA Cup, or getting into the Champions League by finishing in the top four, most would have picked the cup victory, as it’s the first in their history.

That said, to lose out on a top four place two seasons running would be a blow to a club who have spent the majority of both seasons comfortably within the Champions League spots.

Last season, it was Manchester United who edged them out, and this season it appears Liverpool will do the same unless there is a surprise on the final day. 

Leicester won’t give up for sure, but will that defeat to Chelsea have knocked the stuffing out them? Can they recover here to give their fans a good end to the season?

The main news surrounding Tottenham right now is not the optimism of a new manager coming into the club, as will surely happen over the summer. Rather, it is the fact that Harry Kane is likely to leave the club at the end of the season.

He is still competing for the top scorer award, showing that he is still committed to the club and his performance levels remain high, but it would be a huge blow if Spurs were to finish this season without European football and their best player going elsewhere.
