Of all the fans allowed back into stadiums at the end of this season, those of Leeds United will arguably be the most optimistic about what their club has achieved this campaign.

The Peacocks have been fantastic since earning their promotion this season, earning 56 points over their 37 games so far and securing themselves a top 10 finish. Let’s not forget that the other two teams who gained promotion alongside them, Fulham and West Brom, are heading straight back down.

Not only have they played attractive football, they’ve also tightened up at the back in recent games, showing that they can become an accomplished Premier League side in the seasons to come.

West Brom have slumped to relegation and are without victory from their last six games. With 73 goals conceded this season, the highest in the league, they’ve shown themselves incapable of surviving in the top division, even when Sam Allardyce was appointed manager.

Leeds United Preview

Form Guide (all comps): DLWWW

Original predicted finish: 13th

Likely finish: 9th

Reasons to be cheerful:

Could finish as high as 8th if Everton and Arsenal drop points

Fans back inside the stadium to celebrate a great season

Reasons to be fearful:

West Brom will want revenge after thrashing earlier in the season

One eye could already be on the summer

The fact that Leeds could potentially finish as high as 8th if both Everton and Arsenal drop points is testament to their continued quality and motivation throughout the entire season.

Most of that comes from the boss, and it’s no surprise to see Marcelo Bielsa rated as one of the managers of the season in terms of taking a newly promoted side into the top half of the Premier League.

They’ve also evolved as the season has gone on. In that first game of the season, they took part in a 4-3 classic against Liverpool, and were known as a team who would go all-out attack without a plan B. Now, they look a far more mature outfit, one who perhaps score fewer goals, but are more secure at the back.

Can they provide their fans with a perfect result to end the season?

Star Man – Patrick Bamford

Bamford is the league’s fifth-highest scorer this season with 16 goals, and has seven assists to boot. What a season it has been.

West Bromwich Albion FC Preview

Form Guide (all comps): DDLLL

Original predicted finish: 19th

Likely finish: 19th

Reasons to be cheerful:

Unlucky to lose their previous two games

Haven’t lost four in a row all season

Reasons to be fearful:

Lost 5-0 to Leeds earlier in the season

Probably can’t wait for the season to finish

West Brom have the look of a team who can’t wait for the season to finish.

The team look flat, their manager has made a statement to say that he won’t be there next campaign and there must be one or two players thinking of jumping ship to another club over the summer.

That said, they will be determined to avoid a repeat of their early meeting with Leeds, a game in which they were thrashed 5-0. It was here that we saw the gulf between two teams who earned promotion at the same time.

West Brom were probably unfortunate to lose against Liverpool, and they took the lead against West Ham before going onto lose. Can they sign off with a win here?

Star Man – Matheus Pereira

West Brom’s best player scored his 12th goal of the season in his last game. Can they keep hold of him over the summer?

Leeds will be spurred on by return of fans

Will they be focused or with an eye on the summer?

West Brom will be as determined as ever

Leeds’ players will love playing in front of fans for the first time in a while, and with the opportunity to celebrate a successful season by beating a fellow newly promoted side.

If they can stay motivated for one final game, as Marcelo Bielsa will want them to be, they should be favourites to win here.

Leeds to win 2-0
