With Manchester City struggling to make early runs during this season, as a side that has been depleted by losses, it will be interesting to see how their new-look group fares. Seeing that Erling Haaland, 3 goals in 3 matches, will start up front, his length and ability to finish inside should be very scary for any defense to face. 

Despite having been this dominant, the loss of Kevin De Bruyne still massively hurts him because it doesn’t seem like he’s always getting the ball in the right spots anymore.  As Omar Marmoush, 1 assist, is the only piece who has really been causing pressure so far with 14 progressive carries, Rodri and Phil Foden haven’t really looked the same. 

Given that Rayan Chekri has a goal himself, this side has been lucky to have Rayan Ait-Nouri on defense as he’s kept the match much closer by removing the ball from his own end.

With Scott McTominay also making plays in that zone, he has scored once and built on pressure by receiving 16 progressive passes. Up front, although Matteo Politano has been a sharp-shooter, he will be looking for his first goal and to continue providing depth to this group’s scoring options. 

Their best defensive-minded midfielder is André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, as he continues to run the length of the field to create excellent coverage and has already made one match-winning tackle this year. 

On the back end, Mathías Olivera, with two tackles and an interception, along with Giovanni Di Lorenzo, have been vital in helping Alex Meret be unstoppable in goal.
