In round 10 of the Premier League 2024/25, Nottingham Forest hosts West Ham United at their home venue, the City Ground. Forest, who won their first home game against Leicester City (3-1) last week, will hope to string together a few victories in the coming weeks before travelling to the Emirates Stadium to play Arsenal.

West Ham, on the other side, will be full of confidence after upsetting Manchester United (2-1) last week. With the exception of the Tottenham game, which they lost 1-4, the Hammers have performed admirably on the road by not facing a defeat.

Current Standings: Nottingham Forest are currently placed seventh in the league standings with 16 points, separated by two points from the third-placed Arsenal. At the same time, their opponents find themselves in the 13th position with 11 points.

Head-to-Head Record: Forest may be the better of two teams this season, but in head-to-head stats, West Ham holds an edge with a win-loss record of 6-3 in 12 matches.

Nottingham Forest FC Preview

Forest under Nuno Santo has been a revelation of sorts, losing just 1 game in 9 matches and more importantly have managed to beat Liverpool, only team to do so this season, that too at Anfield. With two wins on the trot, and possibility of breaking into top three in the points table, the upcoming match against West Ham could prove to be ‘the’ match for the Forest.

A compact defence has been the recipe for Nottingham’s success this season. They have conceded just 7 goals in 9 games with an xGA of 9.58. Only Liverpool has conceded fewer goals than Nottingham this season, while they have the third best xGA this season.

The defence may have hogged the limelight, but when it comes to scoring there's none better than Chris Wood in the Forest. Of the 11 goals scored by the team, 7 came off the foot of Wood.  Nuno has confirmed Wood, Gibbs-white, Anderson and Silva are all doubtful and will be checked before the game.  If Wood somehow fails the fitness test, the  Taiwo Awoniyi could make a way into the starting 11.

Nottingham Forest  Probable XI - Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Dominguez; Elanga, Anderson, Hudson-Odoi; Wood

West Ham United FC Preview

Following a brief setback against Tottenham, where they lost 1-4, the Hammers regained their lost ground by beating Manchester United 2-1 last week. Julen Lopetegui will expect more of the same on Saturday when they play the Tricky Trees.

The Hammers have clearly lacked consistency when it comes to results this season. They are yet to produce two successive wins this season. Their last three matches, for example, read: 4-1 win, 1-4 loss, and 2-1 victory. That has been the story for them thus. The upcoming game clearly is an opportunity to put in that back-to-back solid performance.

Jarrod Bowen, with 3 goals and 2 assists, has been the standout player this season for the Hammers. But, to win more games, they will require more from other stars in the team like Kudus and Paqueta.

Unfortunately, Kudus will miss the weekend game due to a three-game suspension. Meanwhile, it could be a toss-up between Areola and Fabianski, while the latter started against United. Furthermore, Lopetegui may for Soucek in the midfield at the expense of Alvarez or Soler.

West Ham Probable XI - Fabianski; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Alvarez, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville; Antonio

Forest has won both their Premier League home games against West Ham since they made a return to the first division in 2022. However, the Hammers have won three of their five games against Forest. Regardless, with the backing of a strong defensive unit, West Ham will need something special to win a game on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest are the favourites to win this match, with odds of 2.15 to 3.50 and 3.50 for a draw. In the meantime, we expect an average xG of 2.5 for this match.
