For all the talk of trouble at Tottenham lately, they remain in with a good chance of securing Champions League football next season.

Spurs sit just three points behind the top four, although they’ve played a game more than both Newcastle and Manchester United.

They secured an excellent result over Brighton last weekend and will look to take advantage of another home game this week, against relegation candidates Bournemouth.

The Cherries have put some distance between themselves and the bottom three with a string of positive results in recent times.

Three wins from their last five shows that the players remain confident of survival this season and Gary O’Neil continues to do a good job at the club.

Christian Stellini may find himself suspended for this game, following his touchline clash with Roberto De Zerbi that earned him a red card last weekend.

Regardless, Tottenham have been used to managerial shake-ups in recent times and their players know what to expect.

When you have Harry Kane in such form, backed up by Son Heung-min last week, he makes up for the negatives of other players. Where would Spurs be without his goals this season?

While they have played a game more than their rivals, they still stand a good chance of leapfrogging either Newcastle or Manchester United into the top four.

Alongside West Ham, Bournemouth are the only team outside of the top seven to have won four of their last eight in the league, showing their recent improvement.

Gary O’Neil’s men have had an up and down season, climbing as high as 8th at the start of October before falling to rock bottom in March.

It appears they’ve found form once more at the right time, rising above their rivals near the bottom after a string of victories. With a three-point gap to 18th place, there is more hope than ever that they can survive.

They have important games against West Ham, Southampton and Leeds coming up this month and results in those games will go a long way to determining their fate.
