Interestingly, coach Ange Postecoglou termed the loss as probably the worst defeat since he took charge of the club.

Despite his side's defeat against Brighton, Postecoglou knows better than anyone else that the loss was due to a lack of intensity from his players, particularly in the second half, rather than failed tactics.
