West Brom will aim to give Champions League chasing Everton a tough game despite impending relegation
Everton to win 2-0
Tournament: Premier League 2020-2021 | Venue: West Bromwich, The Hawthorns
Bet NowWith the race for the top four really heating up, Everton are one of the teams best place to take advantage of any slip ups from teams around them.
They are arguably in the best form of the four or five teams vying for the 4th spot, having won their last two matches, and with a reasonably comfortable fixture schedule coming up, with feel that they have a wonderful opportunity to do so.
Their last two games have seen them take maximum points from Liverpool and Southampton, and they have the added bonus of a game in hand over the three teams ahead of them – a win would see them jump into 4th.
West Brom are surely beginning to accept that they will be going down at the end of the season. With a gap of nine points to safety, and having only won three times across the whole campaign, it would need something truly miraculous to survive now.
Nevertheless, they’ll surely give it their all here.
Form Guide (all comps): LLDDW
Reasons to be cheerful:
Unbeaten in three matches – their longest spell of the season
Defensive improved – they haven’t conceded a goal in 226 minutes of play
Reasons to be fearful:
Victorious in just one of the last 12 meetings with Everton
Conceded a league-high 55 goals this season
Although it appears that Big Sam has not been able to save West Brom from relegation, he has certainly made them a tougher team to beat, particularly in recent weeks.
Having lost just twice from their last six games, a period which has included taking points off Manchester United, they’ve managed to shut the door somewhat despite conceding a league-high 55 goals this campaign.
The mark of a good side is to win games when they are not at their best, and that’s precisely what they managed against Brighton at the weekend, courtesy of some controversial refereeing decisions.
Allardyce could rotate his side here, with the weekend’s arguably more important match against Newcastle on the horizon. The likes of Snodgrass and Ajayi are once again available to him for selection.
Star Man – Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Has certainly improved this side going forward since he joined on loan in January. If only they had had him for the full season…

Reasons to be cheerful:
Great record against West Brom
They’ve already matched their number of wins from last season
Reasons to be fearful:
Have been surprisingly poor against the lower sides
West Brom have been hard to beat recently
Everton will feel that, should they win their game in hand, they can snatch a top four place this season ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.
While that would sound like a shock, they have certainly been a match for any top side this season, with the 2-0 victory over Liverpool the other week well-deserved.
Here, they have several injury concerns which could play havoc with their chances of victory. Coleman, Rodriguez and Davies all face late fitness tests, while the likes of Mina and Delph are longer-term absentees.
They will have seen West Brom score from a corner last weekend, but Everton will be confident that they have the physicality to deal with that.
Star Man – Richarlison
Has hit a real purple patch of form, with the Brazilian scoring in his last three league games.
Everton are favourites here
West Brom will set themselves up not to be beaten
Either Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison to score for Everton
Everton have the incentive of rising into the top four with a win here, and you wouldn’t bet against them doing just that with the form that they are in.
West Brom have proved their resilience recently, although it has come too late to save their season. They’ll set themselves up the same way here, though it’ll be surprising if it works again.
