Graham Potter secured his first Premier League win as West Ham manager, defeating Fulham 3-2. While the win was crucial, defensive frailties remain a concern. The lack of a reliable goalscorer is another issue. Despite these challenges, the Hammers are showing signs of improvement under Potter, and with a focused approach to the league, a European Conference spot is within reach.

Crystal Palace have been consistent, losing only one of their last ten Premier League games. Their away form has been particularly impressive, with a six-game unbeaten streak. While they haven't consistently hit top gear, they possess the potential to climb further up the table.

Head to Head Record: Both teams have played each other 27 times. West Ham have won 10 games, Palace have won 9, with 8 draws being played out.

Current Standings : West Ham are 12th with 26 points. Palace are in 14th with 24 points.

West Ham United FC Preview

The Hammers have suffered a major blow after losing both their forwards to injury. Graham Potter has had some conversations and rumour has it that they’re eyeing Forest player Awoniyi. The English manager has had to clean up some cobwebs and give this side consistent results. Beating Fulham was a surprise no one saw coming, but that is Potter’s potential. The manager needs to find a way to get Summerville, Pacqueta and Jarrod Bowen firing. Julen Lopetegui never seemed that interested in going above and beyond. Potter has reversed that by asserting a culture of togetherness. The Hammers fan can sense a feel-good factor, in fact, anyone would have the man who was once touted to be the next England boss.

Striking options

Danny Ings isn’t the player he once used to be. West Ham have been scouting seriously in the market. Sources have said that a 40 million bid was rejected for Jhon Duran - a move that was never likely to materialise. The Englishman who also played for Liverpool is very injury prone. Ings has to be properly managed in terms of workload. Under Potter, Ings is sure to improve. He looked brave against Fulham and did exactly as instructed. Graham Potter becomes the first West Ham manager since Sam Allardyce in 2012 to win his first home Premier League game in charge.

Injury - Antonio, Bowen, Summerville, Emerson, Fullkrug and Todibo are out.

West Ham Probable XI - Fabianski (GK), Mavropanos, Kilman, Wan-Bissaka, Emerson (DEF), Alvarez, Rodriguez, Kudus, Soucek, Soler (MID), Pacqueta (FWD).

Crystal Palace Preview

Oliver Glasner has done well to resurrect his team from a sluggish start to the season. The Eagles were second best against Leicester in the first half. But showed desire in the second when Mateta and Guehi pounced on opportunities. Palace have been slow to adapt to Premier League games. It’s not exactly a problem, as long as results are still going their way. The Eagles need to be more aggressive going into games. Palace have now gone unbeaten in 10 games and will want to keep that up.

This side is far from safety and should be more motivated to move up the table. Eberechi Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Jean-Phillip Mateta have to take matters into their own hands, up the attacking tempo and take teams out just like they did at the end of last season. The London side has a good squad at their disposal and this derby should present a very interesting prospect going forward for both teams.

Injury - Wharton, Franca and Chizbueze are out.

Crystal Palace probable XI - Henderson (GK), Richards, Lacroix, Guehi (DEF), Munoz, Doucoure, Lerma, Mitchell (MID), Mateta, Sarr, Eze (FWD).

This has been a rough season for both teams - starting slow and only about just avoiding relegation. But Glasner has done well to steer away from pressure right into potential. Graham Potter has the expertise to lead this team to a top of the table finish. West Ham will push for a second win at home, and it will be interesting to see how they break Palace’s defensive discipline.

We predict a Draw (1-1)
