Former champions Bengaluru Bulls are still searching for the first victory of the season after 4 matches. Never before in their PKL history have the Bulls been so desperate for a win. They started the season with a loss against Gujarat Giants followed by a close match against the Bengal Warriors. Their lapses on the mat caused another couple of defeat in back to back games. The only hope for the Bulls is that playing at the Sree Kanteerva Indoor stadium in Bengaluru might just revive their fortunes.

On the other hand, UP Yodha as out-performed most of its opponents. They faltered in their opening bout against U Mumba. But after winning the next 2 matches, they are placed 2nd in the points table with 11 points. They beat the Telegu Titans in their last game.

Though Bengaluru raider Bharat has scored the highest raid points, the Bulls seem to be fragile in their defense. On the other hand UP Yodha left corner Sumit leads the pack with 14 successful tackles in 3 matches. This will be one of the toughest bouts for Bengaluru Bulls as another loss at this state will virtually break them down as a unit.

Bengaluru Bulls Preview

Former Champions Bengaluru Bulls are having a forgetful season as they have lost their first 4 matches. It is hard to fathom why the Bulls have gone haywire with their act. They acquired raider Vikash Kandola for a hefty amount in the auctions but he has not performed up to the mark. Raider Bharat Hooda has worked like a one man army earning 37 raid points from 29 successful raids.

Unfortunately their defense has let them down. The Bengaluru defense has been fragile and prone to unforced errors. They have a team tackle success rate of just 42%. They were marauded by the Haryana Steelers in their last game. The Bulls were behind by 14 points at half time with just 2 tackle points in the first half. They did manage to crawl back in the second half with a spirited performance, but still lost the match by a margin of 6 points.

Bengaluru Bulls seem to be one dimensional in their strategy. Apart from Bharat Hooda, the Bulls have not been able to set up a complete raiding party. Captain Saurabh Nandal was one of the best defenders of season 9, but he has been outclassed by the opposition in the first 4 matches. Left corner Aman and left cover Vishal have disappointed. Hence, coach Randhir Singh Sehkhawat is running out of time as well as options.

The Bulls will be up against a formidable unit in the form of UP Yodha. Bengaluru has beaten them 8 times out of their 13 encounters. But currently the Yodha is in hot form. They have the highest team tackle success rate of season 10.

Bengaluru Bulls have also conceded the highest team points this season. Apart from their slippery defense, the Bulls have conceded 6 all-outs in 4 matches which is a serious concern. The only hope for the Bulls will be their fans who will come out in large numbers to support their team at the Sree Kanteerva Indoor stadium. Homecoming may just save the Bengaluru Bulls.

U.P. Yoddha Preview

Up Yodha has operated smartly in this season. They did start with a loss to U Mumba but the Yodha has got the rhythm of the season. They have the highest success rate in team tackles. They have inflicted 8 all-outs in 4 matches apart from having an average of 45 with regards to team points. Pardeep Narwal captured the imagination of all kabaddi fans in his debut season itself and has continued to perform better every season. He is capable of decimating any opposition on any given day, and that is the way UP Yodha will approach this season.

Surender Gill has emerged as their raiding spearhead and he has earned 34 raid points from 27 successful raids in 4 games while Pardeep has been able to earn only 20 raid points.

Left corner Sumit has executed 14 successful tackles while all-rounders Nitin Panwar and Gurdeep have contributed consistently.

The UP Yodha was on a role against the Telegu Titans in their last match. They beat them by a margin of 15 points. Surrender Gills scored a Super 10 while defender Nitesh Kumar scored a Hi 5. They inflicted 3 all-outs on the Titans in the match.

UP displayed a 46% strike rate in their raids while their success rate of team tackles was about 56%

The UP Yodha has emerged as one of the top teams apart from the Gujarat Giants. They have a settled line up along with a strong defense. Pardeep and Surinder Gill have resonated together in the raiding thus creating an unbeatable unit.

Yodha will be up against an out of form Bengaluru Bulls. UP has won just 5 out of their 13 encounters. But on current form the Yodha seems to be the favorite. But UP will be playing at Bengaluru and they may have to face the wrath of the local fans who will be vocal for their home team which is currently out of form. Hence they will facing the Bulls as well as their fans in this exciting encounter.

Welcome to the battle of mismatched teams. Bengaluru Bulls are yet to taste victory while the UP Yodha has found a potent combination. Raider Bharat Hooda is the only player from the Bulls who has delivered. But incase their defense falters again, Bharat will have to double his earning. He will score a Super 10 in this match. Bengaluru have to use raider Abhishek Singh along with Bharat from the beginning. Captain Saurabh Nandal and defender Surjeet will combine well to counter Pardeep Narwal. But the Bengaluru defense will concede a couple of all-outs in this match.

Pardeep Narwal and Surinder Gill, both will score a Super 10 for the Yodha. Left corner Sumit will be ruthless against the incoming Bengaluru raiders. All-rounders Gurdeep and Nitin Panwar will hunt effectively while defender Nitesh will score a Hi 5. If UP Yodha is able to take a huge lead at half-time, they may try out a few new players to give them some match time.

This will be the toughest test for the Bulls on hometurf.

UP Yodha will win
