It has been a contrasting journey for both these teams since they met at the epic clash last season. Bengal Warriors became the champions of Season 7, while Dabang was left heartbroken. Tides have changed as Dabang continued to play like champions in this season and they are placed 3rd in the points table. The Bengal Warriors have slipped to the 10th position and look as if they forgot how to play like champions. Dabang got their revenge on 29th December 2021 when they met their nemesis for the first time in season 8. They hammered 52 points on the Warriors to beat them by 17 points. The Defending champions have not been able to recover from that stampede and they lost steam and form. Both these teams come into this match with a TIE in their last game. Dabang Delhi tied with the Bengaluru Bulls while the Warriors tied with the Telegu Titans. Bengal’s only hope is King Maninder Singh who has been in sensational form this season. The Dabang’s are buoyed by the retuned of Naveen Express and Joginder Narwal. Bengal has won just 1 game out of their last 5 games and they look fatigued as they take on one of the best sides of the season.

Bengal Warriors Preview

The defending champions have had an arduous and painful journey in this tournament. They showed glimpses of their calibre once in a while but overall their performance has been dismal. They are placed 10th in the points table with little hope of making it to the play-offs. The primary reason for their failure was their over dependence and over confidence on their defence due to which they have not added any zing in their raiding department.

They have won only 7 games out of their 18 games and most of the defeats were due to the breakdown of their defence. They have conceded 22 all-outs in all along with leaking 639 points to their opponents. In comparison to this, their raiding income is just 381 points. They have been able to earn these many points only because of Maninder Singh who has 215 raid points from 157 successful raids. This includes 13 Super 10’s.

The Warriors had a different set of defenders initially in the season but now they have moved to the combo of Vishal Mane and Ran Singh at the left corner. Right corner Abozar Meghani has also not performed to the best of his abilities. All-Rounder Nabibaksh has given good support to Maninder but he has been a bit predictable.

Hence the Bengal Warriors have always struggled against top opponents. They got the better of Dabang Delhi in the finals of season 7 to be crowned as the new champions. But this season has brought a prolonged drought for them. They have 3 more games to play after they play the Dabang’s. Even if they win all their matches, they will need a miracle to move into the play-offs.

Dabang Delhi K.C. Preview

Dabang has been one of the best units of this season. They had a long winning streak this season until they lost Naveen and Joginder to injuries. That started a spell of losses which was a wakeup call for them. But Dabang Delhi is back on track with Naveen Express getting overhauled in the workshop. They are placed 3rd in the points table and look quite invincible. They have been in the top 3 throughout the tournament due to their consistent performance. They have won 9 out of their 17 games and they have tied 3 matches. They had their revenge against the Bengal Warriors when they beat them by 17 points. They have an opportunity to repeat the same.

Naveen Kumar is back with a bang. He has earned 148 raid points from 11 games and still remains in the top 10 raiders list. Though he missed about 5-6 games, he has not lost the sharpness in his moves. All-rounder Vijay has been their backup who has delivered whenever he has got an opportunity.

The Dabang’s have conducted 292 successful raids in 17 games apart from executing 129 successful team tackles. This is the lowest among all teams and is a cause of concern.

They have one of the best combinations in their defence with veterans Manjit, Jeeva and Joginder along with Krishnan Dhull and all-rounder Hulk Sandeep Narwal.

As they move towards the knockouts they will have to tighten their defence as the opposition teams will exploit this weakness. Naveen Express is back on track, but he needs to start looting points as he did in the initial part of the tournament.

The Dabang’s have an opportunity to rub it into the Bengal Warriors and secure valuable points.

This encounter looks like one way traffic. The defending champions are languishing at the bottom of the table while the team that they beat in the finals last year is flying high. The Bengal Warriors have a lot of repair work to be done. Their defence has leaked points at crucial moments of the game which push them to the wall. Their defence crumbled completely against the Telegu Titans in their last game and they were fortunate to end up with a TIE. Dabang’s will be hot and spicy, difficult to handle for Bengal Warriors. Dabang Delhi will unleash Naveen Express once again along with Hulk Sandeep Narwal who is quite animated whenever he plays the Warriors. Dabang has to be careful about trapping Maninder very early and keep him off the mat as long as possible. This is an important game for Dabang in context of earning valuable points at this juncture. Kabaddi is a game of glorious uncertainties and the Warriors will look forward to spoil the party.

Dabang Delhi will win.
