The Bengal Warriors started the season with an emphatic win over the Bengaluru Bulls. But their next encounter against the Jaipur Pink Panthers turned out to be a setback. They were forced to TIE the match as Jaipur completely isolated captain Maninder who could score just 4 points in the match.

The Warriors will be forced to rethink their strategy as this was a match they could have won. It is important to note that Bengal were aggressive in the first 10 minutes against the Pink Panthers. They got the lead but could not inflict an all-out. Jaipur recovered and took the lead even when they had just 3 players on the mat. A young and resurgent Tamil Thalaiva started the season with a magnificent win over former champions Dabang Delhi. Veteran Ajinkya Pawar scored a double Super 10, looting 21 points in the match. He was ably supported by Narender Kandola. Both raiders complemented each other shaping the fortunes of their team. 

The Thalaiva has learnt to survive without big names. They have combined together as a team and the results have been impressive. They finished 5th last year losing to UP Yodha in the eliminator. Tamil Thalaiva looks very dangerous as they have a tight defense. 

Defenders Mohit, Abhinesh, Sahil Gulia, left corner Himanshu and captain Sagar form an impregnable wall. Sagar was one of the best defenders of season 9. He executed 45 successful tackles while partner Sahil Gulia executed 53 successful tackles in 23 matches. 

Young raider Narender Kandola earned 243 points last year, thus catapulting him among the best raider in the league. He and Ajinkya Pawar form a deadly raiding duo which allows the Thalaiva to play an extra defender or an all-rounder. This formula worked for the Tamil Thalaiva in their first match against Dabang Delhi. 

They do not have a great record against the Bengal Warriors. But over the years, the Tamil Thalaiva has emerged stronger.
