The Telegu Titans are out of the race for the next round, but it looks like the Bengal Warriors are fatigued after a long season. As they enter the last lap at the home turf, the Warriors have another 4 games remaining including this match. If the Warriors are not able to win all their remaining games, they will have to come back the next year. The Warriors lost to the Gujarat Giants in their last match. Their defense was spineless and out of ideas. Similarly the Telegu Titans too lost to Dabang Delhi by a margin of 11 points. This is the end of the road for the Titans but it will be their responsibility to entertain their fans.

Both teams have played 21 matches between them and Bengal has dominated over the years. Things never took off for the Titans as they have won just 2 matches in this season thus equaling their record of season 9. The Warriors need to take this as an opportunity to revive their fortunes on home turf. If they win this match by a huge margin, it will help them stay alive for the next round. They need to take it match by match as this will be another entertaining face-off between legends Maninder Singh and Pawan Sehrawat.

Bengal Warriors Preview

Former champions have lost a yard of pace in 2024. They looked quite strong after winning 3 matches at the beginning of the season. They have gone through rough phases apart from a few winning streaks. Bengal Warriors have won just 1 out of their last 5 matches.  They settled for a TIE against the Jaipur Pink Panthers in the last week of December 2023. Since then, the Warriors have run out of luck. They lost their last match to the Gujarat Giants.

The Bengal Warriors have one of the best defenders and raiders on the circuit. Shubham Shinde has executed 54 successful tackles in 18 matches. But he too looks fatigued as he has worked overtime for the last 8 weeks. Captain Maninder Singh has earned 166 raid points from 129 successful raids. This includes 8 Super 10’s and 5 Super raids. Still the Bengal Warriors have struggled to win matches. There has been a collective issue with their defense as well as their strategy. The Bengal Warriors are still not able to decide whether to go for an all-out attack plan or wait for their prey.

Bengal lost momentum very early against the Gujarat Giants in their last match. They conceded an early all-out in the first half. Though Maninder 9 raid points and young Nitin Kumar scored a Super 10, Bengal never dominated the Giants. The thrill of Nitin’s raid was overpowered by the shrill in their defense. This was Bengal’s 9th loss of the season.

They have played 18 matches in the season, yet they are not able to work dynamically. Bengal Warriors have the highest success rate in team raids which is about 41%, their efficiency in team tackles is just 35%. Table toppers Puneri Paltan have a success rate of 56% in team tackles. This is the difference between the top teams and the Bengal Warriors.

Defender Shubham Shinde and left corner S Aditya have been consistent. But Vaibhav Garje has been leaking points. The Warriors are missing a proper 4th defender or a capable all-rounder. Placed 9th in the points table, the Bengal Warriors are desperately looking for a victory. They need to make a daring come-back in the season. Fortunately, the Bengal Warriors have a very good record against the Telegu Titans. Bengal has won 13 out of their 21 episodes. Generally the matches between both teams are low scoring one and that is the reason, both teams have forced 5 TIE’s between them. Bengal Warriors need a boost and their fans may just be able to turn it around for them at the Netaji Indoor stadium in Kolkata.

Telugu Titans Preview

The Telegu Titans have been the weakest team of season 10. With just 2 victories under their belt, it’s more or less a dead-end for them. Their dream of letting Superstar Pawan Sehrawat single-handedly win every game was soon shattered. Even Pawan as a one-man army cannot execute this unrealistic dream. It is not that the Telegu Titans do not have good players in their squad. They have lacked a clear plan of action and proper strategy. Initially they had an issue with their support raiders. Rajneesh was not able to complement Pawan Sehrawat who was running through the opposition. Later the Titans introduced young raider Robin Chaudhary and all-rounder S Sanjeevi who did well playing second fiddle. But now they are depending on young raiders like Ratan and Hamid Nader.

Telegu Titans lost their last match to Dabang Delhi. Though Pawan Sehrawat came close to scoring a Super 10, Robin Chaudhary earned 8 raid points. Right corner Mohit was in spicy mood as he tackled with precision earning 6 tackle points. The Titans matched every move but failed to stop the all-outs. They conceded 2 all-outs in the match as Dabang won by a margin of 11 points. But the Telegu Titans still have the zing to compete with the best.

The Titans have the lowest success rate in team raids and team tackles.

They have conceded 790 team points in 18 matches which is the highest among all teams. They have conceded 43 all-outs in the season which is also the highest.

Hence their match against the Bengal Warriors is not expected to be very fruitful. The Titans have not defeated the Warriors since season 4. Time and again they have come close to beating Bengal but those matches have ended in a TIE. The Titans have 5 TIED games against the Warriors which is the highest between any two teams. The Bengal Warriors are desperate for a win as they can still hope to squeeze into the next round. But the Telegu Titans would love to play party spoilers as they can upset the Warriors in front of the Bengal fans.

This contest looks like one way traffic as the Bengal Warriors look superior than their opponents. But Bengal has struggled to win games in the last few weeks. Time is running out for Captain Maninder and company. Nitin Kumar will earn a Super 10 as Maninder will smash the Telegu defense. But the Bengal defense looks fragile which may be the weak link. Shubham Shinde look fatigued while left corner Akshay Kumar and defender Harsh Lad are inexperienced. This will the biggest test for the Bengal Warriors as they could leak a lot of points due to unforced errors from the defenders.

The Telegu Titans have a golden opportunity to trouble the Warriors. If Pawan Sehrawat and Robin Chaudhary could overpower the Bengal defenders, the Titans may be in with a chance to upset the Warriors at Kolkata. This could be a high scoring match as raiders from both sides will earn handsomely. But the Telegu defense looks a bit stronger for a change. Right corner Mohit and left corner Sandeep Dhull will target Maninder Singh. If the Telegu Titans can manage not to concede all-outs in the match, this could be one of the biggest upsets of the season.

Telegu Titans will win.
