Two strong teams are at the crossroad as the season moves toward its business end. Puneri Paltan has done everything it could have to emerge as one of the contenders while the defending champions took some time to consolidate after a disastrous mid-season.

They are currently 6th in the points table and struggling to qualify for the next round. The Paltan is on course for the next round, though they got a timely thrashing at the hands of the Gujarat Fortune Giants in their last match. They were conned into submission as they lost the match by 12 points. But they will take this loss in their stride as a timely lesson. Puneri Paltan has a great record over Dabang as they beat them convincingly earlier in the season. But the Paltan needs to be careful as this time Dabang is fighting for survival and can be too hot to handle.

The defending champions are still hoping for a miracle in their last few games so that they can at least qualify for the next round. They are fighting for survival after playing 19 matches. After winning 3 consecutive games, Dabang lost to the Bengaluru Bulls in a tough encounter and then they had to settle for a TIE against the Tamil Thalaiva. 

The defense was in great mood against the Bengaluru Bulls but Naveen Kumar’s earnings were blocked by the opposition resulting in Dabang falling short of just 3 points in a high-scoring affair. Also, the Dabang Delhi defense donated 23 raid points to opposition raider Bharat. After this tough game, the defending champions should have beaten the Tamil Thalaiva but settled for a TIE.

Though Naveen scored a Super 10, the Thalaiva matched every move to hold Dabang in a stalemate. Dabang Delhi has not been tactically shrewd this season resulting in some close calls and unexpected defeats. 

Dabang Delhi has conducted 366 successful team raids which is the highest among all teams.

Still, they struggle to win matches. The main reason has been their lack of creativity as well as sudden breakdowns during matches. He was instrumental in their title-winning effort last season but he was introduced quite late in this season. 

Dabang needs to win their last 2 matches after they play the Paltan. But Puneri Paltan has always troubled Dabang Delhi. They met at the beginning of the month of November when the Paltan raiders Mohit Goyat and Aslam Inamdar celebrated looting their opponents while Fazel Attrachali and Sombir hunted the Dabang raiders easily. This will be a tough match for Dabang Delhi as their survival depends on the result of this match.

Puneri Paltan Preview

The Puneri Paltan has done enough this season to allow them to take a shot at the title. They have a few more matches to play in the round-robin format, but the Paltan will be planning for the eliminators. 

Young raiders Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat have been lethal and consistent. Both have earned 258 raid points in 17 games. They have formed a deadly combination that works most of the time. Raiders Pankaj Mohite and Akash Shinde have been useful at times. This makes the Paltan a dangerous raiding unit.

The defense under Captain Fazel Attrachali has complemented the raiders quite well. Fazel and Sombir have worked together to hunt down opposition raiders. This partnership has been the highlight for the Paltan. Both were extremely effective against Dabang Delhi in their last meeting. The Paltan will be worried about the form of the defender's Sanket Sawant and right cover Rakesh Ram. Both are extremely good defenders but haven’t found their rhythm this season. All-rounder Nabibaksh hasn’t been in top gear too. If all goes well for the Paltan, these players will grab the opportunity against the Dabang to fine-tune their skills.

The Paltan has a better record than Dabang which is quite surprising considering the domination of the defending champions. Puneri Paltan has beaten Dabang 9 times out of their 18 meetings. Paltan beat the defending champions convincingly in their last meeting when defenders Fazel Attrachali and Sombir weaved their magic to hunt down the Delhi raiders. Both Aslam and Mohit Goyat scored a Super 10 thus drowning the defending champions.

Welcome to another entertainer as Dabang Delhi fight for survival. The defending champions are at a critical position in the points table where they are being challenged by teams like the Thalaiva and U Mumba who may nudge them to move ahead to the next round. Hence Dabang needs to win this match at any cost. 

The Paltan will be ready for them as they got a rude shock in their last match against the Fortune Giants. Raiders Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat will score effortlessly as the Paltan may surprise Dabang by introducing raider Askash very early. Defenders Fazel and Sombir will target Vijay Malik apart from slowing down Naveen Kumar. 

Defenders Sandeep Dhull and Amit Hooda will play an important role in this match against the Puneri raiders. But the Delhi defenders may not be able to stop Aslam and Mohit Goyat. Naveen Kumar will play sidekick to Vijay Kumar as Dabang Delhi will find it difficult to match the Puneri intensity in the second half. But this street brawl may turn up some surprising results.
