As the tournament has entered into a crucial phase, time is running out of U Mumba as they take on Dabang Delhi. U Mumba are placed 7th in the points table with 6 victories from 12 matches. They had a lot of issues initially but recovered in time to start winning games. But their team efforts are proving futile as they won only 1 out of their last 5 matches. U Mumba is prone to lose steam mid-season. On the other hand Dabang Delhi has quietly positioned itself in the top 3. They overcame the absence of Naveen Kumar to win 7 out of their 13 matches.

U Mumba lost to the Jaipur Pink Panthers in their last match. They put up a decent fight but fell short by 2 points. Dabang Delhi had a tough game against the Gujarat Giants as they lost by a margin of 5 points. Though their defense was precise, it was the support raiders who failed. Captain Ashu Malik scored 13 of the total 17 team raid points. With Delhi in a spot of bother, U Mumba have a wonderful opportunity to exploit the situation. If Mumba is able to plan the heist, they can jump into the top 5 in the points table.

Dabang Delhi K.C. Preview

U Mumba had a lot of issues with its team combination. Though they have persisted with the raiding combination of Guman Singh, Zafardanesh and Jai Bhagwan, the trio has been generally inconsistent. But off late Guman and Zafardanesh have improved their ratings and both have collectively earned 196 raid points in 12 matches. U Mumba recovered from a wobbly start in the season to win matches in the last week of 2023. But their last 5 outings have been problematic. They defeated the Telegu Titans on 30th December and entered 2024 in style. They defeated Bengaluru Bulls on 5th January only to lose to the Jaipur Pink Panthers the next day. Since then they have lost to Dabang Delhi and Jaipur again apart from forcing a TIE against the Haryana Steelers.

This trend puts a question mark on their mental setup. With the tournament into its second half, Mumba has not yet salvaged its position in the top 5. This could lead to an issue when the play-offs come closer. U Mumba had an issue with their raiding combination at the beginning of the season. After sorting those problems, they starting winning regularly. Now it is their defense which has developed snags. Defenders Mahender Singh and Bittu are out of favor as coach Golamreza have been forced to brew a new combination. He tried using defenders Gokullakannan and Shanmugam in the last match. But is it too late for Mumba to come up with a new defensive combination? Their raiders too worked in unison for some time. But they too have run out of gas on various occasions. Guman Singh scored a Super 10 in the last match while Zafardanesh and all-rounder Visvanath could not match his tempo. Mumba lost by just 2 points in a low scoring affair.

Mumba will be up against Dabang Delhi who have been revitalized by the return of Naveen Kumar. Even if Naveen Kumar is not available, Delhi Captain Ashu Malik will be difficult to handle. U Mumba have a very good record against Delhi. They have won 12 out of their 21 matches played so far. But Mumba has not defeated Delhi since season 7. Out of their last 7 matches, one has ended as a TIE, while Delhi has defeated U Mumba in the last 6 games. Hence this will be a tough outing for the former champions on home turf.

U Mumba Preview

Champions of Season 8 have peaked at the right time. The absence of Naveen Kumar does not bother them anymore. They have 3 out of their last 5 matches which is a commendable achievement. Dabang Delhi was struggling with its combination in the first few matches. Then they encountered speed breakers in the absence of Naveen Kumar. But stand-in captain Ashu Malik has led his team positively and they have started getting the results.

Dabang Delhi have recovered from the loss of Naveen Kumar. But have they peaked too early? They lost to the Gujarat Giants in their last match by 5 points. Before this game, they were forced to settle for a TIE against the Patna Pirates. They could have won this match, but shared the points instead of losing them. It was expected that they will bounce back against the Giants, but they faltered in all departments. Captain Ashu Malik scored a Super 10 while defenders Yogesh and Ankit scored 3 tackle points each. What hurt Delhi the most was the inability of their second and third raider to score. Manjeet Sharma was tackled very early and kept off the mat for almost 35 minutes. Same was the case with Meetu Sharma. Hence Dabang Delhi were tactically forced on the back-foot. They never recovered from the situation and lost the match. Even if Dabang Delhi considers this an off snag, they will have to face the turbulence against U Mumba.

Dabang Delhi has a healthy success rate in team raids which is about 43%. This was courtesy Naveen Kumar who is still unavailable.

Their efficiency in team tackles is just about 39%.

They have inflicted 19 all-outs in 13 matches which has helped them reach the 3rd spot in the points table.

Delhi will take on arch-rivals U Mumba in Hyderabad. They will happy to see Mumba struggling a bit. Delhi has not lost to U Mumba since August 2019. They have defeated Mumba in their last 6 matches and this will be the source of their inspiration. But Delhi will have to be careful with their second and third raiders. Captain Ashu Malik will have to lead the charge and inspire his young raiders to put up an unforgettable show.

Welcome to battlefield Hyderabad as U Mumba takes on Dabang Delhi. Mumba will have to figure out a way to exploit Delhi who are struggling a bit. Their raiders hold the key against their arch-rivals Dabang Delhi. Guman Singh, Zafardanesh and Visvanath will complement each other but one of them will score a Super 10. It will be interesting to see what sort of a defensive combination U Mumba designs for this encounter. They do not have a lot of time to experiment. Hence if the young Mumba defense falters, this will be a big roadblock for their future progress.

Dabang Delhi too have some issues with their raiding. Captain Ashu Malik is in top form and he will score another Super 10. Meetu Sharma and Manjeet Sharma may just succeed due to the fragile Mumba defense. This will help Dabang Delhi to a large extent. Defenders Ankit and Yogesh will hunt precisely and exert pressure on their opponents. Dabang Delhi will lead by half-time but they may have to suffer some heavy moves by Mumba in the second half. Delhi has to make sure that they do not lose their intensity by the end of the match. But this should be a good win for Dabang Delhi.

Dabang Delhi will win.
