Bengal Warriors executed the greatest heist of the season as they forced a TIE in their last game against the Tamil Thalaiva. They did not score a single tackle point in the first half, were all-out twice, and trailed by 12 points to the Thalaiva by the end of the first half. But they bounced back in style to punch above their weight and steal a TIE from the jaws of defeat. But this hasn’t helped the Bengal Warriors to jump too high in the points table. They are still stuck in the 8th position after playing 9 games.

The Gujarat Fortune Giants have been equally maverick as they have won just 4 out of their 9 games. They look invincible in some games and pedestrian in the rest. The Fortune Giants lose steam very quickly which has kept them far away from consistency and success. They lost to the Patna Pirates in their last game even though raiders Prateek and Mahendra scored 20 out of the total 28 team points.

This will be a contest between defenses of teams with butter fingers. Both teams have similar issues and both teams are struggling to keep up pace with the table toppers.

Gujarat Giants Preview

Gujarat Fortune Giants is one of the most unpredictable sides of the season. They have a talented bunch of youngsters but they seem to lose their way more often than not. They started in a scratchy manner but picked up form soon after to win games in a dominant fashion. But after every thumping victory, the Fortune Giants return with a lame defeat.

They have played 9 games, out of which they have won 5 matches while settling for a TIE against the Tamil Thalaiva. This has kept them in the bottom half of the points table this season. They have some good raiders, but it is their defense that has faltered regularly. They lost to the Patna Pirates in their last game which was due to the complete breakdown of their defense. They scored just 3 tackle points in the entire match.

Coach Ram Mehar Singh will be quite disappointed with his wards. He is always animated during the match on the sidelines expecting his player to give their best. The Fortune Giants have been fortunate to have a vibrant group of raiders. Rakesh and Chandran Ranjit have performed consistently while the new “Dubki King” Prateek Dahiya has impressed everyone. He scored a Super 10 in the last match which the Fortune Giants lost. Raiders Mahendra Singh Rajput and Korean Dong Geon have contributed whenever they have got a chance.

Unfortunately, the Fortune Giants have been able to execute just 68 successful team tackles in 9 games.

They have conducted 155 successful team raids out of the total 379 team raids.

The Fortune Giants have inflicted 13 all-outs while conceding 10.

This has not allowed them to dominate games and their fortunes have fluctuated throughout the season. They will be up against a strong but inconsistent Bengal Warriors. The Fortune Giants need to win this game in order to keep their hopes alive.

Bengal Warriors Preview

It is quite difficult to describe the Bengal Warriors as they have displayed contrasting characteristics this season. 

They are dangerous yet lazy. They are inconsistent and unpredictable. 

Their aptitude and attitude were on display in their last game against the Tamil Thalaiva. They trailed by 12 points by the end of the first half in which they could not even earn a single tackle point. The story continued till about 10 minutes into the second half when the Bengal Warriors suddenly woke and bounced back to almost win the game. Deepak Niwas Hooda scored a Super 10 while Captain Maninder looted 19 points in the match. The Thalaiva was stunned by this counter-attack and the match ended in a TIE.

But the Bengal Warriors are far too superior for such antics. Their inconsistency has cost them several games as they find themselves at the 8th spot in the points table with just 24 points from 9 games. They have all the firepower but the Warriors seem to have forgotten how and when to use these guns.

Left corner Girish Ernak has been their best defender with 28 successful tackles in 9 games. But apart from Girish none of the other defenders have been consistent. The rise of Deepak Niwas Hooda was something that the Warriors were waiting for a long time. 

Bengal Warriors haven’t played the Fortune Giants many times in the past. Both teams have played 7 games between them and the Warriors have been able to win just 2 while a couple of games ended in a TIE. Both teams have played high-scoring as well as slow matches too. Hence it is very difficult to predict the outcome of this game. The best result would be a TIE!!!

Winning Prediction

The prediction meter goes for a toss when two unpredictable teams clash. Bengal Warriors and Gujarat Fortune Giants have shown similar symptoms to age-old inconsistency. 

The Bengal Warriors will be pumped up with their comeback in the last game, though they could not win it against the Thalaiva. But the manner in which they overran their opponents in the second half was very impressive. The Warriors may employ these tactics and stun the Fortune Giants. Captain Maninder, Shrikant Jadhav, and Deepak Niwas Hooda will be lethal. Defender Girish Ernak had an off day in his last match but he will trap the Gujarat raiders very early.

The Fortune Giants will depend on Rakesh and Prateek to earn raid points. Defender Arkam Shaikh will be back in form and he will trouble the 2nd and 3rd raiders from the Bengal Warriors. Defenders Saurav Gulia and Shankar Gadai need to contribute in order to increase the probability of a Gujarat win. 

Considering the fluctuations in the form of both teams the ideal result should be a TIE.
