This will be a contest of contrasting teams. The Pirates using contingency plans very early in the season to dock themselves in the 3rd position in the points table, while Gujarat Fortune Giants started well but moved towards recklessness.

If their last encounter against the Puneri Paltan is off any indication, all is not well with the Fortune Giants. They were out witted by Haryana Steelers and then by the Puneri Paltan. In both matches, unforced errors, high tempers and over confidence lead to their fall. Flurry of green cards to players and the coach does not help their cause.

Patna Pirates got a timely wake-up call when they were held by the Thalaivas. But the Pirates realized it during the game and played safe earning 3 points rather than losing the game. Defender Sajin had a bad outing while Monu Goyat, Sachin Tanwar and Prashant Rai had a good game.

This will be a difficult match for the Fortune Giants who look invincible when they are on song but look amateurs when they can't get their act together.

Gujarat Giants Preview

Currently 8th in the points table, Gujarat Fortune Giants resemble a melting ice cream. They are yet to taste victory this season and this is very difficult to imagine considering they are one of the most colourful teams. They have some good players, animated coach, solid strategy. But somehow they have not been able to crack the code.

They were taken for a ride by Haryana Steelers when the Steelers turned on the heat in the first half of the match and Gujarat were all out twice. The Fortune Giants could not recover from this onslaught and this was visible in their encounter against the Puneri Paltan. The Paltan beat them 33-26.

Ajay Kumar got a Super 10 but Rakesh Narwal couldn't do much. Left corner Girish Ernak and right corner Hawk Ravinder Pahal failed once again.

They have conceded 185 points in 6 matches.

5 all outs inflicted, 6 conceded.

Just 1 Super Raid in 6 matches. Their raiders have not been able loot points on several occasions.

Fortune Giants have a typical thought process, slow down the game, run the opposition out of steam and control the game. But they need some contingency plans before it is too late.

Patna Pirates Preview

The Pirates are one of the top performing teams of the season and are placed 3rd in the points table with 24 points in 6 matches. They began with a heartbreak but settled into a winning rhythm. Monu Goyat is doing his job, but the support from captain Prashanth Rai and Sachin Tanwar has been phenomenal due to which they have been able to loot raid points. The 3 of them have accumulated a wealth of 117 raid points in 6 games.

The corners are performing nicely with Sunil in the right corner and Iranian all rounder Mohammedreza in the left. Both have executed daring tackles regularly and saved their team from all out.

Patna Pirates have executed the highest Super tackles- 8

They have looted 77 tackle points.

They have inflicted 7 all outs.

Their “Black Pearl” sails under all weather conditions. Especially Sachin Tanwar works like MS Dhoni in the last 5 minutes of the game, cool, calm and composed. He has whisked off raid points in the dying moments of the game to keep their ship afloat.

Patna Pirates is a wonderful package, full of characters and they should take their “Black Pearl” to the end of the league!!!!!

This is “Mission Impossible” for the Gujarat Fortune Giants as they take on the Pirates. Loaded with several problems, the Giants have become slow and lethargic in their approach due to which they have not won a single match this season. Their raiders are doing their job, the combination of Sunil and Parvesh is working well, it the corners who are not performing at crucial moments.

The only way they can bully the Pirates is by reducing unforced errors.

The Pirates are in cruise control and should not have a problem to tackle the Fortune Giants. Sachin Tanwar will play against his former teammates. Raider Guman Singh was a revelation for the pirates in the last match and he will be a useful hand when it comes to a heist.

Pirates will beat the Giants.
