Gujarat Fortune Giants is one of the most dangerous but unpredictable teams of the PKL. They blow hot and cold and it has become a norm to expect surprises from them.  They will take on the Patna Pirates in a crucial encounter of season 9. The Fortune Giants have played well but lost important games which have stagnated them at the 6th spot in the points table after 8 games. 

They had won consecutive games before they lost to arch-rivals U Mumba. They got an opportunity to revive and they beat the Telegu Titans quite easily to set up an all-important clash with the Patna Pirates. 

Gujarat Fortune Giants has used its resources quite well. They have a vibrant raiding team which includes Rakesh, Chandran Ranjit, new dubki king Prateek Dahiya, Mahendra Rajput, and Prashanth Kumar. Their defense has been quite consistent. Saurav Gulia and Rinku Narwal form the backbone of this defense while Arkam Shaikh and all-rounder Shankar Gadai have contributed significantly.

After an initial spate of losses, the Patna Pirates are back on track. They have not lost any of their last 3 games as they have beaten the defending champions as well as the UP Yodha. They have a long way to go as they need to win matches more often. The Pirate fans were shocked at the beginning of the season but the festive season brought them good news as well as good luck for their team.

The Pirates have gone back to their original style, deceit, and loot. They conned Dabang Delhi in a thrilling match and won it by a margin of 4 points. This was their first win and the first loss of the season for Dabang. The Pirates then managed to hold the Bengaluru Bulls for a TIE. That was a wise decision by the Pirates as they were able to stay afloat in the points table. 

The most important turnaround for the Pirates in both these games was their defense. Captain Neeraj Kumar was back to his best while defenders Manish and left corner Mohemmedreza performed as expected. This has been complemented by the raiding income of Sachin Tanwar and Rohit Gulia. This is the formula that has always worked for the Patna Pirates.

The number of Super Raids and all-outs has drastically increased for the Pirates in their last 3 games which has resulted in a reversal of their fortunes.

The festivities continue with this encounter between the Patna Pirates and Gujarat Fortune Giants. Their encounters have always been entertaining and full of fireworks.

The Fortune Giants will be confident as they have been playing pretty well. It will be interesting to see which raiders are unleashed by the Fortune Giants. They will go ahead with Chandran Ranjit and Rakesh while Prateek will be used as their third raider.
