The Haryana Steelers have been one of the most energetic sides in the tournament and they never say attitude has helped them overcome fatigue and bad form. They have lost only 1 game out of their last 5 and look comfortable in 4th place in the points table.

On the other hand, the Gujarat Fortune Giants have had a forgetful season. First, they were taken to the cleaners in the first half of the tournament and then the team was struck by Covid. Then Dabang Delhi hammered them in their comeback match by 19 points. Looks like the Fortune Giants have earned all the misfortune this season. They will up against a strong Haryana Steelers squad and it will be a tough match for them. The Fortune Giants had all the ingredients to drive safely through this tournament, but their vehicle was never on track.

The Haryana Steelers have a wonderful opportunity to win this game and move up in the top 3 in the points table.

Haryana Steelers Preview

The Steelers got an ugly wake up call earlier in the season when they lost a close game to Dabang Delhi. Since then this effervescent group of players have been on an unprecedented journey. Post this they avenged their defeat to the Dabang’s in their next game and went on to beat UP Yodha. They had another tough game against the Telegu Titans which they managed to TIE.

Their approach is very refreshing and this has helped them overcome defeat and fatigue. Vikash Kandola continues to shine and earn a good harvest for this team. He has earned 116 raid points in 96 successful raids and has been a reliable raider for the Steelers. All-rounder Meetu who partnered with Vikash in the early part of the season is out due to fitness issues. But Rohit Gulia and Vinay have stepped in successfully. Both scored 16 raid points in their last game against the Titans.

Their biggest strength is their defence. Jaideep and Surender Nada have been in devastating form. Both have executed 79 successful tackles in 14 games. Surender Nada has executed 4 Super tackles and has earned 2 High 5’s.

The Steelers have lost 5 out of their 14 games and this has been due to their defence having a bad day at the office. But they seem to have taken the necessary corrective measures and this has converted them into a dangerous and consistent side.

They have been super-efficient in their last 5 games and will look forward to beating the Fortune Giants and moving up in the points table.

Gujarat Giants Preview

This season has been a forgetful one for the Fortune Giants. They have been struck with nothing but “Misfortune”. They overcame Covid and it was inspiring to see them back on the mat. But they continued their listless performance against Dabang Delhi who hammered them by 19 points. Losing matches has been a steady partner for the Fortune Giants this season. They have won just 3 games out of their 12 and they have never been able to settle in any sort of rhythm.

They do not have any of their raiders or defenders in the list of top 10, though Parvesh Bhainswal leads the list of players with maximum Super Tackles. It looks like it's too late for them to make a comeback in this season, but they need to motivate themselves and give their fans something to cheer for. In their match against the Dabang’s, they tried new raiders Bhuvaneshwar Gaur and Pradeep Kumar. They did a good job considering they haven’t played any match before. But the Fortune Giants do not have any backup plan for their defence.

Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhaiswal have been pedestrian this season, while left corner Girish Ernak has blown hot and cold. The Fortune Giants will be playing back to back matches as they take on the Bengal Warriors post their encounter with the Steelers. A hectic week awaits the Fortune Giants who seem to be clueless about their future in this tournament.

The Haryana Steelers have built a good momentum for themselves as they come into this match. They have had their set of problems, but coach Rakesh Kumar has worked hard on various contingency plans and they have started to yield results. If the Steelers continue to play with self-belief and enthusiasm, they might just go all the way without many noticing them.

The Fortune Giants have no other option but to face their fears. They have to go through the grind whether they like it or not. They have recovered from Covid, but do they have any medication prescribed for their reckless performances? They can only try out new players and hope they strike gold. Coach Manpreet looks visibly upset and disappointed but he has to come up with innovative plans. They will have a tough game against the Steelers and in all probability will not be able to sustain the onslaught.

Haryana Steelers will win!
