Former Champions Jaipur Pink Panthers had a slow start to their season 9 campaign. They lost a close game to UP Yodha but then came back in style to beat the Patna Pirates. They have been primarily dependent on raider Arjun Deshwal and Ajith for their earnings. Their defense seems good but hasn’t yet been delivered consistently.  Left corner Ankush and captain Sunil Kumar have been impressive but a lot is expected from defender Sahul Kumar and star raider Rahul Chaudhary.

Haryana Steelers have the uncanny knack to remain in the top 3 almost throughout the season. They are consistent, adaptive, and cunning in their approach. Without any superstars in their line-up, the Steelers have yet again impressed everyone in their first 2 games. They beat the Bengal Warriors in their inaugural game while taming the Tamil Thalaiva in their second.

Raider Manjeet has been an exciting prospect since the last season. This time he led the raiding party of the Haryana Steelers. He looted 19 raid points against the Bengal Warriors and looks in great touch. Haryana Steelers have some good support in raiding with Meetu, Vinay, and all-rounder Nitin Rawal. 

Steelers have conducted 3 Super Raids and have inflicted 2 all-outs in their 2 games. Their defense is the key with players like Jaideep Dahiya, Sunil Kumar, right Corner Monu, and right cover Mohit. Seasoned campaigner Joginder Narwal is yet to spend enough time on the mat in order to guide the youngsters.

Haryana Steelers have started showing behavioral patterns like Gujarat Fortune Giants as they have started regulating the pace of the game. This is not surprising at all as their new coach is Manpreet Singh who was in charge of the Fortune Giants till season 8.

They do not have a great record against the Jaipur Pink Panthers as the Steelers have been able to win only 3 out of their 10 games played so far.

Jaipur Pink Panthers has always been a very attractive side. They wear their emotions on their sleeve, and play attractive kabaddi but remain inconsistent. They seem to take time before their engine starts cranking properly.

They lost their first game to UP Yodha by a margin of 2 points after leading the game at the end of the first half. They should have at least tied that game. But the Pink Panthers came back in style as they beat the fancied Patna Pirates in their next game.

Raider Arjun Deshwal continues his good form which he displayed in season 8. He has earned 418 raid points in his PKL career and leads the Pink Panthers raiding party. Superstar Rahul Chaudhary is yet to fire while defender Sahul Kumar has displayed butter fingers.

But young raiders like Ajith and Bhavani Rajput displayed courage as they supported Arjun Deshwal quite efficiently. Jaipur captain Sunil Kumar is in good touch and has been able to maintain the intensity along with right corner Ankush. 

Jaipur Pink Panthers have conducted 3 Super Raids while inflicting 4 all-outs in 2 games. They just need to improve their consistency as well as the presence of mind in crucial areas of the game. They lost to UP Yodha after leading in the first half. Left cover Abhishek was unstoppable against the Patna Pirates and he will be expected to continue his good form against the Haryana Steelers as Jaipur has a better head-to-head record against them.

Winning Prediction

This will be a face-off between young raiders of both teams. This will be a match between Manjeet and Arjun Deshwal. Both teams have a few issues to be sorted out as the season progresses. 

Raider Manjeet earned 19 raid points against the Bengal Warriors while Arjun Deshwal earned 17 against the Patna Pirates. This will force the defense of both teams to trap these young raiders. Raider Rahul Chaudhary needs to fire else he will have to make way for youngsters while defender Sahul Kumar needs to get back to his classic hunting.

Jaideep Dahiya and Nitin Rawal will be key to the success of the Haryana Steelers. This may just be a very high-scoring game.
