Former Champions have found their mojo very early in the season. Fans were used to seeing their team struggling through the season and then picking up pieces by the fag end. But this unit looks determined to create history. 

The Pink Panthers beat the Haryana Steelers in their last game. Their performance was convincing and inspiring. Raider Arjun Deshwal continues his good form as he went past 400 career points in the PKL. He is an asset for the Pink Panthers and difficult to tackle. 

Another highlight of the match was the return of superstar Rahul Chaudhary. Certainly low by his standards, still Rahul earned 7 points in the game. He may not earn too many raid points these days but he has improved his assist percentage in the defense which is a significant change for a player at the fag end of his career. 

Left corner Ankush was intimidating throughout the match. He is a pocket dynamo who creates that added pressure in his zone. Jaipur won the match by 13 points as they maintained the intensity throughout the game. This will be a challenge for them as they will be playing back-to-back games. Their opponents are equally charged and this will be one of the best games of the season. Captain Sunil Kumar was in devastating form as he earned 8 tackle points in the match.

The Pink Panthers do not enjoy a great record against the Gujarat Fortune Giants as they have beaten them just thrice in their last 10 meetings. The Pink Panthers would like to rewrite this record.

Gujarat Giants Preview

Season 9 is about to witness the resurgence of the Gujarat Fortune Giants. Under new coach Ram Mehar Singh, the Fortune Giants displayed a special brand of kabaddi as they decimated The Puneri Paltan in their last game. Usually, we are used to the Fortune Giants controlling the pace of the game, slowing down the match very early. But in their last game, not only the players but the coach looked eager to win at any cost.

In a high-scoring game, the Fortune Giants scored 28 points in the second half to race away to victory. They were aggressive from the first raid as the defenders were playing quite ahead of the center line. The Fortune Giants neutralized Aslam Inamdar very early and forced the Paltan to retreat. The Fortune Giants targeted Iranians Fazel Attrachali and Nabibaksh and rendered them toothless.

Raider Rakesh scored a Super 10 and Prateek Dhaiya and captain Chandran Ranjit gave good support. Defenders Saurav Gulia, Arkam Shaikh, and Shankar Gadai were phenomenal in their hunting as they intimidated the opponents more than earning tackle points.

This strategy augurs well for the Fortune Giants as they looked laid back in their initial games. This will be the match of the season as both teams are fully charged but playing back-to-back games over 2 days. There is very little to choose as both teams have displayed superior raiding skills and devastating tackles. Captain Sunil Kumar will be up against his former team while raider Arjun Deshwal will have to devise innovating escape moves to deceive the Gujarat defense.

The Fortune Giants will continue their aggressive brand of kabaddi and trap Arjun Deshwal and Rahul Chaudhary early in the first half. Both teams have a history of playing low-scoring games, this season might just bring out a point fest. 

Jaipur defender Sahul Kumar is back in form and he will be dangerous in the right corner position. Expect both teams to play patiently and try the do-or-die raid option regularly throughout the match.
