Welcome to the heavy weight bout of season 10 as hotshots Puneri Paltan take on the former champions Dabang Delhi. Both teams won their respective matches with huge margins. The Puneri Paltan thrashed the Bengal Warriors while Dabang Delhi made quick work of the Telegu Titans. 

Both teams have been in good form off late. The Paltan is placed 3rd in the points table while Dabang Delhi is placed 8th with 11 points from 4 matches. Puneri Paltan displayed ruthlessness against the Bengal Warriors. Their raiders looted double the tackle points as compared to their raids in the first half. This was due to the lethal tackles of Iranian all-rounder Mohammedreza who scored 6 tackle points. He will be gunning for Delhi raider super star Naveen Kumar.

Dabang Delhi have their set of problems as their defense has been a bit inconsistent. Their success rate in team tackles is just around 29%. They cannot expect to beat the Paltan with a fragile defense. But Puneri boys will exploit this weakness to register another home victory.

The Puneri Paltan make a rocking comeback as they roasted the Bengal Warriors in their last match. They scored 59 points and won the match by a margin of 30 points. This was a fantastic come back on home turf as they had lost to the Haryana Steelers a day earlier. 

Such was the intensity of their attack that they scored double the raid points through tackles in the first half against Bengal. Left corner Iranian Mohammedreza was brutal in this ankle holds which left the opposition gasping for breath. Right corner Gaurav Khatri scored a Hi 5 while defender Abhinesh scored 4 tackle points in addition to the 6 tackle points by Mohammedreza.

Captain Aslam Inamdar and raider Mohit Goyat scored a Super 10 each. Mohit displayed some acrobatic escape skills which enthralled the Puneri fans. The intensity of the attacks from the Paltan was so high in the second half that they inflicted 3 all-outs within 20 minutes. The Puneri Paltan needs to maintain this momentum for the next few weeks so that they can cement their position at the top of the points table. 

Pune has the highest average tackle points per match. They need to be consistent with their raiding with the trio of Aslam, Mohit Goyat and Pankaj Mohite operating regularly. Mohit Goyat has been in phenomenal form while Aslam Inamadar has been earning well. But for a player of his caliber, Puneri fans are expecting more from their captain.

Puneri Paltan has generally dominated Dabang Delhi over the years. They have won 11 out of their 20 encounters. Pune won both their league games against Delhi last year and they would like to continue the trend.

Dabang Delhi K.C. Preview

Former champions Dabang Delhi had a wonderful outing as they beat the Telegu Titans comfortably. This was their second victory of the season. Dabang has a decent combination of raiders but it is their defense which needs to be consistent. Captain Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik complemented each other to score 30 raid points between them. Delhi led at half-time scoring 29 team points in 20 minutes. But the Titans too scored 21 team points in the first half which is a matter of concern for the former champions. Though Dabang Delhi inflicted 3 all-outs in the match, they also conceded 2.

Captain Naveen Kumar is in awesome form as he has earned 42 raid points in 3 matches. Raider Ashu Malik did score a Super 10 against the Titans but he needs to be consistent. Raiders Meetu Sharma and Manjeet are the backup options but the heavy dependency on Naveen Kumar can be a double edged sword. 

Defense seems to be their strength too as left cover Himmat Antil has been impressive. Veteran Vishal Bharadwaj was scratchy in the first match but he made amends in the second game by scoring 4 tackle points. He is crucial at the left corner position but he is also prone to regular unforced errors. That’s the reason he was replaced with Ashish as the left corner against the Telegu Titans and the move worked as Ashish scored a Hi 5.

Dabang Delhi need to get their combination sorted at the earliest as they take on the mighty Puneri Paltan. Both teams have been scoring heavily in their last few games. Unfortunately Dabang does not have a great record against the Paltan. They have not beaten Pune since season 8. Another major challenge for Delhi will be how to stop the relentless raids from the Puneri raiders as well as how to insulate Naveen Kumar from Pune defender Mohammedreza.

If anyone is looking for some adrenalin rush, do watch the match between Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi. The former champions depend heavily on Naveen Kumar. Naveen and Ashu Malik will complement each other as one of them will score a Super 10. The biggest challenge will be for the Dabang defenders. Himmat Antil will successfully trap one of the Puneri raiders. Left corner Ashish will be precise. But they may not be able to stop Pune raider Mohit Goyat.

The Paltan will be aggressive from the first raid itself. They will lead by halftime. Captain Aslam Inamadar and Mohit Goyat will wreck-havoc in the Dabang camp. Left corner Mohammedreza and right cover Abhinesh will be lethal against Naveen Kumar. Defenders Sanket Sawant and Gaurav Khatri will turn on the heat in the second half. This will be the toughest match for Dabang Delhi. If Naveen Kumar is off the mat for long periods, Dabang will succumb to the pressure.
