Welcome to the spicy contest between arch-rivals Puneri Paltan and the Gujarat Giants. Both teams have hit the right notes in this season. The Paltan has not lost any of its last 5 matches while the Giants have won 7 out of their 11 matches. Both teams are in the top 3 with some dominating performances over the last 4 weeks. Surprisingly the Puneri Paltan had to work overtime to defeat the Tamil Thalaiva in their last outing. This was also a wake-up call for them as they won the match by just 3 points. None of their raiders could score a Super 10. It was their defenders Mohammedreza and Gaurav Khatri who saved the day for them with 14 tackle points between them.

On the other hand, the Gujarat Giants sailed smoothly past the struggling Telegu Titans. Raider Rakesh scored a Super 10 while defender Dipak Singh was ruthless as he scored 9 tackle points from 9 tackles. This was a dominating performance by Dipak as he surprised everyone with his exuberant attacks. Hence this contest between teams with fantastic defenders will be an exciting one. This will be a face-off between the defence of both teams which will provide an adrenalin rush to their fans.

Puneri Paltan Preview

Table toppers Puneri Paltan are having a dream run in this season. They are on top of the points table with 9 victories out of their 10 matches. They have one of the best balanced sides in the tournament. But they had a tough time beating the Tamil Thalaiva in their last match. It was a low scoring affair which went down the wire as the Paltan won the match by just 3 points. None of their raiders could score a Super 10. It was the defenders, Mohammedreza and Gaurav Khatri who hunted precisely to save the day for the Paltan. Both scored a Hi 5 each as they trapped the Tamil raiders throughout the match. Right corner Gaurav Khatri had a 100% record with 6 tackle points from 6 tackles. Unfortunately Abhinesh and Sanket Sawant could not open their account.

The Puneri Paltan seems to be tactically more confident than many other teams. They stole the show during the auctions by getting Iranian all-rounder Mohammedreza Chinayeh. This has given that extra sharpness to their defense. Mohammedreza scored 5 points in this first match for the Paltan as his ankle holds and tackles were swift and precise. Hence the Puneri Paltan executed a smooth take-off for season 10. They also have the options of raiders Pankaj Mohite and Aditya Shinde. Iranian defender Vahid Reza adds to the options while all-rounder Ahmed Inamdar can be used as a floater in some games. The Puneri Paltan looks well prepared to take on any team in season 10. Fortunately whenever the Puneri raiders have failed, the defense has taken over the reins immediately. The Paltan needs to plan proactively as their opponents will surely find an anti-dote for them very soon. Tamil Thalaiva came close to stealing the show in the last match, but somehow the Paltan escaped from the jaws of defeat.

They will be up against the tenacious Gujarat Giants who can trouble them on any given day. The Puneri Paltan does not have a great record against the Giants. They have won just 3 out of their 12 matches which is quite surprising. Puneri Paltan were the runners-up last year but they lost both their league games to Gujarat. Hence this will be a high octane match for the Paltan as they will plan to not only avenge their defeats of season 9, but aim to remain on top of the points table.

Gujarat Giants Preview

The Gujarat Giants have peaked at the right time. They have won 7 out of 11 matches. The Giants have taken giant strides in their last 5 matches. They did lose to Dabang Delhi earlier in the week but that can be counted as a blemish when they failed as a unit. Gujarat Giants defeated the Telegu Titans in their last match. The Titans shocked them in the first half as Gujarat trailed by 5 points. None of their raiders could score easily. It looked as if they may succumb to the Titans. But right cover Dipak Singh was their knight in shining armor as he ruthlessly tackled the Titans to score 9 points. Gujarat inflicted an all-out twice in the second half to win the match in style. The Giants will be up against the arch-rivals Puneri Paltan in their next outing.

Captain Fazel Attrachali has been the architect of this resurrection. The Gujarat Giants were slow to take off but they soon found the winning template. Defenders Sombir and Fazel have been their main tackle point earners, but even in their absence players like Dipak and right corner Manuj have performed beyond expectations. Hence the Gujarat think tank has tactically used most of its players and have given them enough match time. None of their raiders or defenders are in the top 10, yet the Gujarat Giants have won matches purely on the basis of teamwork.

Their success rate in team raids is about 40% while their efficiency in team tackles is about 39%.

They have inflicted 16 all-outs in 11 matches while conceding just 9.

The Gujarat Giants have also used the DoD strategy time and again. They have earned 35 DoD team points in 11 matches. The Giants have raiders like Rakesh, Sonu and Prateek Dahiya. Fortunately for them, at least 2 have always scored in each match. Hence they have not witnessed a total breakdown in their raiding in this season. They will be up against the super strong Puneri Paltan who have bulldozed every team that has come their way. The Gujarat Giants have a phenomenal record against the Paltan. Gujarat has won 8 out of their 12 encounters. They have not lost to the Paltan since season 8. Hence this will be one of the best contest of the season. Possibly a pre-cursor to the finals?

Arch-rivals Puneri Paltan get ready to clash with the Gujarat Giants in Jaipur. Both teams have some fantastic players who are in good form. Puneri Paltan had a wake-up call in their last match when none of their raiders could score a Super 10. It was a low scoring match where defenders Gaurav Khatri and Mohammedreza worked their magic. Both will once again trouble the Gujarat raiders. One of them will also score a Hi 5. The Puneri raiders may not be effective, but they will score collectively.

Gujarat captain Fazel will use all his might to stop countryman Puneri defender Mohammedreza. Their raiders may not be effective against the Paltan. Hence this is expected to be a low scoring match. The second half of the match will be super exciting as both teams will attack relentlessly. Ideally, both teams are equally matched hence predicting a winner is tough. This will be a face-off between the defense of both teams.

Puneri Paltan will win.
