Both teams faced disappointment in their second match after a fairly positive first one. Tamil Thailaivas are still winless after their first two games and will look to add some points on board. U Mumba, who were terrific in their first game against Bengaluru Bulls but fell short against Dabang Delhi K.C. in their second fixture.
As things stand, 3 points is the difference between the two teams. Facing the Bulls was always going to be challenging for the Thalaivas but their ability to get tackle points will prove crucial during the season. Surjeet Singh was impressive again with his leadership and tackles in his second game.
U Mumba, who looked terrific in both the raiding and the tackling department in their first match, struggled to stop Dabang Delhi's raiders as they managed only 5 tackle points all game.
Thalaivas fell short for the second time as they failed to get a win on board. But their defense looks promising. With 25 tackle points in just two games, they lead the league with the second best team 6 points behind.
Raider Manjeet who scored a super 10 in the first game, couldn't match his performance vs the Bulls, but Bhavani Rajput stepped up. He scored 8 points in one half consisting of 3 bonus points.
The defence struggled against star raider Hi Flyer Pawan Sehrawat letting him get 9 touch points but were able to neutralise the other Bengaluru raiders pretty well. It will be interesting to see how they perform against U Mumba's Abhishek Singh and Ajith Kumar.
Key Insights:
- Most tackle points as a team (25 in 2 games)
- 43.86% successful tackle rate
- 4 all outs conceded, joint highest in the league. Something they can improve on.
- Most points conceded in the league (78 in 2 games)
U Mumba set the mat on fire in their opening game of the season. While they lost to Delhi in their second game, the signs are positive and they can go deep into the tournament.
Raiders Abhishek Singh and Ajith Kumar have combined to score 37 raiding points for the team in two games. They will play a significant role against the Thalaivas who have conceded multiple all outs in both their games.
Captain and star defender Fazel Atrachali didn’t look at his best in the second game and U Mumba will have to do better in the tackling department.
Key Insights:
- Low 26.3% successful tackle rate vs Dabang Delhi K.C.
- 19 tackling points in two games, but only 6 in their last match.
- 44 raid points in the league, second highest
- 4 all outs inflicted, will be key vs Thalaivas.
While Thalaivas have shown good signs in the tackling department, their raiding hasn't been on point. Manjeet will have to take charge after his impressive raiding efficiency of 48.38% in the first two games. Prapanjan will have to step up as the captain. They will also have to improve on their efficiency and reduce unforced errors. They just need to show the swag of being the Thalaivas.
U Mumba will look for super tackles and prove a menace while raiding. Abhishek and Ajith could prove too much for the defensive trio of Surjeet, Mohit and Sahil. All rounder Ashish Sangwan and defender Rinku will have to make precise moves while tackling and help Mohsen Maghsoudlou in the right corner to trap the raiders.
U Mumba walk into this match as favourites.
U Mumba will win.
