Bengal Warriors will beat U Mumba.
Tournament: Pro Kabaddi (PKL) | Venue: The Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre, Bengaluru.
Bet NowThe last of the triple panga on Saturday will see a resurgent Bengal Warriors taking on the tired U Mumba side. Though Mumba are placed 5th after 9 games, the defending champions made a huge statement when they beat the Tamil Thalaivas. The Bengal Warriors are placed 9th but they can still make it to the play-off games.
The Warriors reinforced their defence with the introduction of veteran Ran Singh Raniya in the last match as left corner and the move delighted all their fans as Ran Singh was precise in his hip holds and tormented the Thalaiva raiders. This was the move that was overdue as the combo of Ran Singh and Maninder will prove lethal for the opposition.
U Mumba looked completely lost against the Puneri Paltan. They lost the match by 19 points and this is a cause of concern. Their support raider Ajith is not fit and U Mumba are struggling with their raiding party. They had to rely on raider Jashandeep in their last match and it didn't yield much.
This will be a huge test for the U Mumba side as Bengal Warriors look ruthless, they are hurt, they are regrouping and they are dangerous.
It was a dream start for U Mumba in the opening game of the PKL when they got the better of Bengaluru Bulls. U Mumba inflicted 3 massive all out's in their first match, with a pinch of super raids and garnishing with super tackle's.
But a long season has taken the toll on Mumba who looked fatigued in their last match against the Puneri Paltan. Raider Abhishek Singh is doing his job but he looks overburdened in the absence of the ever reliable Ajith. U Mumba are forced to play more all rounder's and defenders as they do not have many raiding options. This curtails their ability to earn points.
Captain Fazel Attrachali has looked out of sorts in the last couple of matches, so has defender Harendra. Right corner Rinku has time and again executed Super Tackles all by himself. Right corner Rahul Sethpal and Iranian Mohsen Maghsoudlou look in good form, hence U Mumba should be able to handle the Warriors.
U Mumba have executed 9 Super Tackles and 5 Super Raids.
They have conceded 294 points in 9 matches.
They have inflicted 12 all outs and conceded 9.
The only issue with the U Mumba side is that they look ordinary in some matches and unfortunately for them many players have a bad day together. They will hope to be at their best against the defending champions.
The defending champions have not had a smooth journey this season. Except for Captain Maninder, none of their weapons have fired. That is the reason why they find themselves at the 9th spot in the points table with just 22 points. But they made their most important move by including veteran Ran Singh in the squad against Tamil Thalaivas and the move worked. Ran Singh and Maninder have forged an unbeatable partnership over various seasons and this is the spark that the Bengal Warriors were looking for.
Ran Singh will be fresh as he has not played earlier, at the left corner he is very dangerous as he executed advanced tackles efficiently. This will also take the load off Nabibaksh which is a welcome sign for the defending champions.
Maninder has been amazing throughout this season as he has earned 111 raid points from 85 successful raids. He is massive and difficult to rein in for the opposition.
Raider Akash PikalMunde has played well in the last few matches and this is a positive sign for the Warriors.
They have to be careful on occasions as they look a bit confused and concede too many all outs and points.
They have conceded 12 all outs and 329 points overall.
Against U Mumba, they have a slight advantage as Mumba does not have too many raiding options. Plus with Mumba playing in the safe mode, this could be the match from where Bengal Warriors can re-launch themselves in orbit.
This match could signal the comeback of the defending champions as they take on out of form U Mumba. Mumba has multiple issues to sort out- mainly their raiding options. With Ajith not fully fit, Abhishek Singh and Jashandeep have to bear the load while the Mumba defense has to be extremely miserly. Fazel Attrachali is slightly out of form, while right corner Rahul Sethpal, Ashish Sangwan and Rinku will have to improve their tackling efficiency.
The defending champions will expect the duo of Maninder and Ran Singh to ransack the Mumba team and create a new Highway to the play off for Bengal Warriors on a triple panga day.
Bengal Warriors will beat U Mumba.
