They let their young raiders earn as much as possible, but rely more on their defenders to get tackle points. Their success rate in team tackles is about 37%. Defenders Mahender Singh and left corner Sombir have been impressive and consistent. Rinku did not play the last match, but his replacement Bittu was in unbelievable form. He scored 6 tackle points in 9 attempted tackles. All-rounder Visvanath has been used very effectively. He is the catalyst in the team as he is able to conduct raids whenever needed and also contributes in the defense. Against the Bengaluru Bulls, Mumba had an issue as most of their players were off the mat for long durations. Hence the coach had to try out various players. Normally this leads to a lot of confusion but all the players who went in earned some way or the other. This also proves that U Mumba has a very good bench strength unlike other teams.

The defending champions are comfortably placed in the top 5 in this season. They have been generally consistent. They are placed 4th in the points table with 5 victories out of 9 matches. They defeated the Haryana Steelers in their last match. The Pink Panthers were sorted in this match as Arjun Deshwal scored 14 points to register another Super 10. He has scored 90 raid points from 64 successful raid in this season. This includes 5 Super 10’s in the 9 matches that he has played. 

Jaipur’s efficiency in team tackles is about 42%, their success rate in defense has improved since the last few matches The Pink Panthers success rate in team raids is about 35%. This is due to the fact that none of the other raiders have consistently supported Arjun Deshwal. Their next best raider has been Ajith who has earned 41 raid points in the season. But the lack of raiding points does not bother Jaipur on most occasions as their defenders are able to compensate. Even though the Jaipur Pink Panthers do not have any of their defenders in the top 10, it’s their team effort which makes them a dangerous side. Veteran defender Sahul Kumar was replaced by young Lucky Sharma who has been impressive in the games that he has played. 

But the defending champions will be up against rivals U Mumba in their next match. This will be a re-run of the finals of season 1 where they beat Mumba to lift the title. Jaipur has to be careful as U Mumba will be targeting Arjun Deswhal. Without much backup in raiders, if Arjun fails, it will be a headache for the Pink Panthers. Jaipur might take it as a chance to slow down the game and let their defenders do the needful so that they can insulate Arjun Deshwal. Jaipur won both their matches against U Mumba last year and hence they will be confident about taking on the home side.

U Mumba will depend on Guman and Zafardanesh for their earnings. Both will effectively complement each other. But this will be the greatest face-off between the defenders of both teams. U Mumba will try to keep Arjun Deshwal off the mat for long duration. If that works, Jaipur will be in trouble. Mumba defenders Sombir and Bittu will be lethal as one of them will score a Hi 5. There is not much to choose between both teams and ideally this match should end as a TIE.
