With Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill, UP had one of the most formidable pairs in the tournament. With defenders like Sumit, Gurdeep and Nitesh Kumar, they had one of the best defensive formula. Even though individually all these players performed, but they could not deliver as a team. Just like season 9, Captain Pardeep Narwal has been decoded by most of the teams and he has to play second fiddle to raider Surinder Gill. Surinder earned 87 raid points in 10 matches but he was injured during one of the games. Surender was not available for the remaining matches and this was a big blow to the UP Yodha.  

UP are out of the race for the eliminators with just 4 victories in 20 matches. They have to complete the formalities in the season. UP will be up against the Gujarat Giants who defeated Bengaluru Bulls in their last match. UP Yodha got thrashed by the Jaipur Pink Panthers by 37 points. This was one of the worst defeats for the Yodha. Raider Gagana Gowda scored a Super 10 but he could not get much support from Mahipal and Gulveer. The UP defense was in shambles as defender Hitesh was their lone warriors. He scored 5 points but could not get much support from the other defenders. UP conceded 4 all-outs in the match which was the major reason for their thrashing.

One of the most mercurial sides of the league, the Gujarat Giants have won 3 consecutive matches. Gujarat Giants have been adaptive and dynamic during the matches. But sometimes these tactics backfire. Young raider Sonu emerged as the find of the season. They also have used the services of veteran raider Rakesh and Prateek Dahiya. But all-rounder Rohit Gulia has given them an additional raiding option apart from his exploits in the defense.

Gujarat Giants have already qualified for the next round with 12 victories from 20 matches. If they can win their next 2 games, they could be in a position to stake claim at the top 2 position which will help them go past the eliminators. Gujarat thrashed the Bengaluru Bulls in their last match. Raider Prateek Dahiya was quick and agile as he earned 13 raid points. Captain Fazel chipped in with 6 tackle points. But the Giants inflicted 4 all-outs in the entire match which took the steam out of the Bulls. All-round D Balaji and right cover Dipak Singh added another 7 tackle points which helped the Giants win by a margin of 22 points. Captain Fazel Attrachali has brewed a unique flavor in the Gujarat Giants. He has been lethal apart from being an exceptional leader. Fazel has been supported impressively by defenders Sombir, Arkam Shaikh and Saurav Gulia. Overall the Gujarat defense has hunted effectively in most of their matches. Unfortunately, the Gujarat Giants get trapped in their own web. They are able to confuse their opponents on most occasions by varying the pace of the game. But in doing so they lose intensity at crucial moments. 

They will be up against the UP Yodha who seem to be having a mid-season crisis. Gujarat Giants have generally enjoyed a good record against the UP. Gujarat Giants do not have big names in their raiding department, yet they are able to surprise their opponents. Prateek Dahiya is their secret weapon as he has been used sparingly by the Giants. He scored 13 points in the last match and he will score another Super 10. The Gujarat defense looks impregnable with Fazel Attrachali and D Balaji in good form. Unfortunately defender Sombir was off the mat for a long time, but he will be back in action against the Yodha.

UP will find it very tough to negotiate the Giants. Young raiders Gulveer, Gagana Gowda and Mahipal will complement each other to earn enough. One of them will score a Super 10. The UP defense will be the weak link as they will leak points through the match. Only if defenders Sumit and Hitesh work their magic, they will be able to trouble the Gujarat Giants. Unfortunately, the Yodha will lose steam in the second half. They will also concede more than 2 all-outs in the match. This looks like one way traffic for the Gujarat Giants.
