The UP Yodha will take on the Puneri Paltan whom they beat by 10 points in a high-scoring game in their last meeting. The Yodha’s is placed 6th in the points table with 39 points from 13 games. They have won 3 out of their last 5 games and tied one. The UP Yodha has increased the intensity of their game in every match and they cannot be taken lightly.

The UP Yodha’s have found renewed vigor, intensity, and confidence to take on any opponent. They have lost only one of their last 5 games and this will give them a lot of self-belief. They lost to the Haryana Steelers in their last game by just 1 point and this match could have gone either way. After 13 games, the Yodha’s are on the 6th spot with 5 victories. The pandemic has forced the organizers to reschedule some matches and the UP Yodha will meet the Puneri Paltan once again after a gap of 10 days. They beat them last time by 10 points in a high-scoring match which saw 90 points being scored in 40 minutes.

Raider Surender Gill did not play the last game which raises doubts about his fitness. Shrikant Jadhav stepped in and earned 10 points while Pardeep Narwal has now settled in the role of the sidekick. The Yodha defense has improved and has been consistent. Captain Nitesh Kumar, left cover Shubham Kumar and Sumit earned 9 tackle points in the last game.

Puneri Paltan Preview

The Paltan was long due for some good performances and they have started to deliver, better late than never. They have come to terms with the absence of star Rahul Chaudhary and with Nitin Tomar back in action, they have got the much-needed push. They beat U Mumba by 19 points and Dabang Delhi by 17 points. They are a team of extremes. They win big and they lose by big margins too.

They have improved their coordination in the last few games as they won their last 2 games. Though they are 10th in the points table, they have some big wins under their belt. They were in devastating form against Dabang Delhi with raiders Mohit Goyat, Aslam Inamdar, and Nitin Tomar earning 24 raid points between them. They will have to just replicate this performance. Right cover Abhinesh and defender Sombir have coordinated well to form an impregnable wall of defense.

The Paltan beat the Bengaluru Bulls earlier in the week and suddenly the Paltan looks like a formidable unit. If they can beat the UP Yodha, it will be the icing on the cake and may just open the doors for them to walk into the play-offs.

Nitin Tomar, Aslam Inamdar, and Mohit Goyat have formed a good raiding trio while Vishwas and Pankaj Mohite are good back-ups. The Paltan is still struggling to find a replacement for left corer veteran Vishal Bharadwaj who has not been in the best of form this season.

The Paltan has worked on its aggressive strategies by inducing 18 all-outs but they have faltered in their defense too by conceding 18 all-outs.

They have an impressive record in DoD as they have earned 53 DoD raid points. This has helped them either reduce the point difference or win matches with a late surge.

The forecast for this game is for heavy showers of points from both sides!!!! Both teams will be eager to play an aggressive and positive brand of kabaddi. They will look forward to taking risks as well as trying for advanced tackles. The Paltan will hope that their defense sticks to their basics and does not leak too many points to the Yodha’s. Pardeep Narwal has been kept quiet throughout the tournament and this can be the match where he may go berserk. UP Yodha will expect Surender Gill to be fully fit.

The Puneri defense will be tested as left corner Karambir has replaced Vishal Bharadwaj. The UP Yodha defense will also be tested as they were pushed on the back foot by Haryana Steelers in the first half of the last match. The UP raiders will also have to maintain a healthy score difference throughout the match so that they are not under pressure in the dying moments of the second half.
