The Darren Sammy Cricket Ground, previously known as Beausehour Cricket Ground is nestled near Gros Islet in Saint Lucia. Originally named after the nearby Beausejour hills, and completed in 2002, it has since become a cherished cricketing arena. The stadium has a capacity of 13,000 spectators and hosts domestic matches for the Windward Islands cricket team, providing a platform for regional talent to shine. Sammy is the first international cricketer from Saint Lucia and has led the West Indies to victories twice, in the 2012 and 2016 ICC World T20s. Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium Pitch Report

The Darren Sammy Cricket pitch is known for its unique characteristics. It tends to favor fast bowlers, particularly those using old balls and bowlers who employ spin techniques. This makes it hard for the batsmen to score against spin and fast bowlers. However, as the game progresses, the surface improves for batting, and high runs can be scored in the later overs. The Daren Stadium has a standard cricket field size with a circular boundary and the dimensions are more or less similar to other international cricket grounds. The outfield is well maintained making way for quick movement of the ball.

The Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium pitch report changes with changes in the weather conditions. On sunny days, the pitch usually favors bowlers in the initial overs. The ball movement is more controllable adding to the challenge for batsmen to score freely. As the day progresses, the pitch becomes better for batting. Overall, the pitch offers a balance between batsmen and bowlers and both have equal opportunities to make an impact.

On the grounds of Darren Sammy stadium, teams winning the toss often choose to bowl first, taking advantage of the early movement. Also, the teams batting second can easily capitalize on the improved pitch in the second inning. The spinners play a crucial role during the middle overs. Their ability to extract turns and disrupt the opposition’s rhythm can change the course of the game.
