Akash Deep On Fire, Picks up 9 Wickets in the First Match for India A in Duleep Trophy

The much anticipated Duleep Trophy has begun and young guns are making headlines with their performance. The 27-year-old pacer from India A - Akash Deep has done a fabulous job in the first game.
While playing against India B, Akash Deep picked up a total of 9 wickets throughout the match. It was a complete destruction of the opposition by Akash Depp in both innings.
In the first Akash Deep picked up 4 wickets in 27 overs at an economy of 2.22 while giving 60 runs. During the 2nd inning, Akash bowled with much more discipline and scalped 5 wickets at an economy of 4 while giving away 56 runs.
Akash Deep has been part of Team India for a single test. His maiden Test cap came against England early this year. He scalped a total of 3 wickets at an economy of 4.36.

Akash Deep made his domestic debut for Bengal in the T20 format. The 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy became his debut tournament.
In List A cricket, Akash Deep his first 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2019 for Bengal. He has been part of 28 List A fixtures and has 42 wickets on his name.
He has been an active player in the Ranji Trophy since 2019 for Bengal. His experience in domestic cricket and consistent performance led up to his debut in IPL in 2022.
India A vs India B - Match Review
India A vs India B was the first fixture of the Duleep Trophy which took place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match started with India B batting first and after losing the first two early wickets, Musheer Khan came to the rescue of the team.
Musheer Khan scored 181 off 373 balls at a strike rate of 48.53. However, once he was sent back to the pavilion, the middle order fell like a house of cards. Navdeep Saini at the lower end contributed with 56 off 144 balls.
From India A, Akash Deep picked up 4 wickets. Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan scalped 2 wickets each at an economy of 2.35 and 2.68 respectively. Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav contributed with a single wicket.
The batting unit of India A was not as good as it should have been. The batters failed to build partnerships and lost wickets in every spell.
Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini picked up 3 wickets each for India B at an economy of 3.26 and 3.75 respectively. Sai Kishore also scalped 2 wickets.
During the 2nd inning, Akash Deep and Khaleel Ahmed decimated India B’s batting attack by scalping 5 and 3 wickets respectively. Only Rishabh Pant from India was able to achieve a respectable score of 61 off 47 balls.
For India A, the target was 275. However, the bowing unit of India B was ferocious. Yash Dayal picked up 3 wickets at an economy of 4.17. Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini scalped 2 wickets each and helped India B to score a win.
The next fixture of India B is on 12th September against India C. Their win in the first fixture has brought odds in favour of India B on all the Indian bookmakers.
