An Easy 2-0 Series Win For New Zealand

An Easy 2-0 Series Win For New Zealand

There was no surprise that New Zealand secured a series over Zimbabwe with a 2-0 win, the only vague surprise in Bulawayo on Saturday was the fact that the Black Caps declared on their overnight 601/3 when many thought they might keep on batting!

However, the promise of a couple of days off was too much to resist for Mitchell Santner and his charges so the declaration came before the bowlers once again made quick work of Zimbabwe's batting line-up.

The Chevrons were dismissed for 125 in their first innings and 117 in their second, all of which merged to see New Zealand secure the third largest margin of victory by an innings in the history of Test cricket!

Year Team Opposition Victory Margin
1938 England Australia Innings & 579 runs
2002 Australia South Africa Innings & 360 runs
2025 New Zealand Zimbabwe Innings & 359 runs

There's now a break until October before Test cricket returns so in the meantime fans have the Asia Cup to look forward to while bilateral internationals, along with the Caribbean Premier League, One-Day Cup and The Hundred occupy the coming weeks.

As ever, there will be plenty of opportunities to back your judgement and find some cricket betting tips to help you on your journey.

A Second Win, Not Much Of A Test For The Black Caps

The first Test of the two-match series was dominated by New Zealand so there was no surprise to see the second game be so one-sided as well!

Zimbabwe even won the toss, elected to bat first and were up against something of a makeshift opposition who handed debuts to three players in one game, the most in an individual Test for the Black Caps since January 1996.

The Chevrons were dismissed inside 49 overs and the tone for the game was set. New Zealand made over 600 with Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra all reaching 150.

It all concludes a successful trip to Zimbabwe for New Zealand who won the Zimbabwe Twenty20 Tri-Series which also included South Africa before sheer dominance in the Test series!

What's next for both teams

  • The victorious Black Caps are not due to be back in action until October when they will host Australia for a three-match T20I series.
  • As for the Chevrons, they will be back in action in 20 days time when Sri Lanka arrive for six white ball games, starting with three T20Is.
