AUS W vs IND W ODI Series 2024: Big Changes as Shafali Verma Misses Out

Another thrilling India-Australia series is coming up. India Women’s team is all set to play a three-match ODI series next month. Before that, they are gearing up for the exciting series. Ahead of this, the BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming series. Shafali Verma dropped from the team. Along with that, some other players like Priya Punia, Titas Sandhu, and others received maiden call-ups.
The cricket world is all set to see another version of the India-Australia rivalry. India and Australia Women will face each other in a three-match ODI series. The first match of the series will be played on December 5. Brisbane and Perth are all set to host the series.
Before entering the series, the BCCI announced the 16-member squad. Young batter Shafali Verma missed her spot in the squad. The talented batter is going through some rough patches. Her form has become a concern. She scored just 108 runs in the last six matches for India. She scored her last half-century in 2022. Along with her, Dayalan Hemalatha and Shreyanka Patil also missed their spot in the squad.
Richa Ghosh Returns After Missing New Zealand Series
Along with Verma’s exclusion, Team India got a big boost as some star players returned to the squad. Talented wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh returned to the team. She missed the previous series against the New Zealand Women due to her board exams. Along with her, some other players returned to the team.
After a while, Priya Punia was named to the squad. He played the series against South Africa earlier this year but missed the recently ended series against the New Zealand Women. After one year, Herleen Deol returned to Team India’s ODI squad. Titas Sandhu and Minnu Mani have been named in the squad. They represented the national side in the shortest format but are now set to play ODI games.
