Australia vs India 1st Test - Probable Playing XI for Team India

Australia vs India 1st Test - Probable Playing XI for Team India

The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar trophy between Australia and India is about to go on the floors. The first Test between the two teams is scheduled to begin on 22nd November and the series will have five Test fixtures in total.

Australia will be hosting after hosting Pakistan for a 3-match ODI and T20i series. They lost the ODI series against Pakistan by 1-2 but completely wiped out the visitors in the T20i format by 3-0.

Their last Test series was against New Zealand in the month of March in away conditions. The Aussies dominated the series and won it by 0-2. Coming back to the red-ball format after 9 months will bring some extra pressure for the team.

Team India is travelling after winning a T20i series in South Africa by 3-1. However, they made headlines for all the wrong reasons in the Test format as they lost the Test series against New Zealand at home by 0-3.

A Test series loss at home after 12 years has raised some questions in the Indian camp. They will be under immense pressure to perform their best quality of cricket in Australia. The cricket betting tips for the Australia vs India 1st Test have been uploaded.

Top Order

Top-Order

Yashaswi Jaiswal

KL Rahul

Virat Kohli

Team India will be without their regular skipper Rohit Sharma in the first Test. He will be joining the team in the middle of the Perth Test or might join the rest of the team at Adelaide directly. His absence will impact the team's combination at the top-order in the first Test.

Another big blow for team India came in the form of Shubman Gill’s absence. Gill fractured his thumb during the training session. The absence of two key batters in the 1st Test will create a void in the batting lineup of Team India.

Because of the absence of Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma, India is expected to open the game with KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Yashaswi Jaiswal. Jaiswal will play a key role at the start of the 1st Test. Kohli will be promoted to number 3 as the team requires him to play in the top order in the absence of key payers.

Middle Order

Middle-Order

Abhimanyu Easwaran

Rishabh Pant

Ravindra Jadeja

Nitish Kumar Reddy

India’s middle order will be relying on Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja to play an important role. The experienced duo have come out as the saviour for team India on multiple occasions. Pant will be the key player in India’s middle order.

Two new faces are expected to be introduced in the middle order with the addition of Abhimanyu Easwaran at number 4 and Nitish Kumar Reddy at number 7. Both players will be expecting to make their debut for Team India in the first Test.

Team India will be without two primary batters - Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma. In order to increase their batting depth, India is expected to go with a pace all-rounder at number 7 and Nitish Kumar Reddy will be the best option for the team.

Bowling Unit

Middle-Order

Ravichandran Ashwin

Jasprit Bumrah

Mohammed Siraj

Akash Deep

Ravichandran Ashwin will be part of the team at number 9 and he will play a key role for India against Australia. Ashwin has been an exceptional spin option for India on Australian pitches.

The three pace options will be the skipper Jasprit Bumrah himself with Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep. Akash Deep has been a successful finding for Team India at home and it will be interesting to see how things take place for the new pacers in away conditions.
