BBL 2024-25 - Top Batters & What To Expect in IPL 2025 from Them?

BBL 2024-25 has come to an end and Hobart Hurricanes have come out as the winners of the 14th edition. The Big Bash League again proved to be one of the most entertaining leagues in the T20 format and showcased masterclass in the shortest format of the game.

Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder reached the final fixture of the league by outnumbering other teams. These two teams met in a thrilling encounter where batters from both ends displayed their top-class game. However, in the end, it was the Sydney Thunder bowling unit that failed to perform at its best and failed to stop the Hurricanes from completing the chase.

The end of the Big Bash League also marks the beginning of a new season of the T20 cricket leagues. A new season of the Indian Premier League will begin in the month of March and in mid-April, a new of the Pakistan Super League will take place.

1) Mitchell Owen - Hobart Hurricanes

The 23-year-old Mitchell Owen has finally gained the spotlight with his aggressive performance in BBL season 14. 2) David Warner - Sydney Thunder

Australia’s batting star David Warner came out as the 2nd highest scorer in the league and answered his critics in style. He was one of the primary reasons for Sydney Thunder reaching the final fixture. Unfortunately, no franchise from IPL showed interest in David Warner for the 2025 season and hence we won’t be watching him playing IPL for the first time. However, David Warner will be part of PSL 2025.

3) Glenn Maxwell - Melbourne Stars/Punjab Kings

Glenn Maxwell is a star attraction for both the Big Bash League and the Indian Premier League. He is a 3-dimensional player where he serves the team as a key batsman, bowler and fielder. Maxwell came out as the 4th highest scorer in BBL and he will be seen playing for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. It is a homecoming for Maxwell as Punjab Kings bought him for a price tag of INR 4.2 Crore. He will be expected to give Punjab Kings a major batting depth at number 4.

4) Marcus Stoinis - Melbourne Stars/Punjab Kings

Another Melbourne Stars player who will be playing for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 will be Marcus Stoinis. In BBL 2024-25, Marcus Stoinis was the 5th highest run-scorer and followed his teammate Glenn Maxwell in the list. Marcus Stoinis was bought by Punjab Kings for a price tag of INR 11 Crore and he will be expected to serve the team as an all-rounder in the middle order.

BBL 2024-25 - More Batters to Feature in IPL 2025

Among the top performers in BBL 2024-25, Tim David will be one name who will be expected to rise and shine in IPL. The 14th season of BBL was positive for him as he maintained an average of 42.33 and a strike rate of 177.62 throughout the league. Tim was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore during the IPL 2025 mega auction. It is a new start for Tim and he will be expected to serve as a finisher for the Bangalore squad.
