The first week of the Big Bash League 2024-25 has come to an end and the league is going through a Christmas Break. The last fixture that took place was between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades in which the Renegades scored a comfortable win.

Melbourne Renegades, after going through a nightmare in the previous edition, are the table toppers in the first week of the league. They have won 2 fixtures and have witnessed a single loss. Their net run rate stands at +1.496.

The defending champions, Brisbane Heat, are currently in the 2nd spot with 2 consecutive wins in the last 2 fixtures. Their net run rate stands at +0.456 and they are followed by Sydney Sixers who have also scored 2 wins with a net run rate of +0.427.

1) Cooper Connolly - Perth Scorchers

Perth Scorchers are currently struggling in the league and they are failing to dominate the league as per their past standards. However, Cooper Connolly has come out the leading run-scorer in the league for the 1st week before the break. This is his 2nd season in the league and with the Scorchers the player is finally breaking his own bubble to come out as one of the strongest performers.

5) Mitchell Owen - Hobart Hurricanes
