For the same reason, BCCI is in the process of finalizing the venues for the whole tournament. There is a possibility that the final game might take place in Baroda because the Kotambi Stadium has recently raised its standard as per international cricket.
BCCI is also in touch with Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) to finalise the venues for the league stage fixtures. The 2nd phase of the league is likely to take place in Baroda which includes the playoff and the final game.
Kotambi Stadium is a new venue for cricket in the country. It has hosted three Women's ODIs against the West Indies in international cricket. In domestic cricket, Kotambi Stadium has hosted multiple Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy fixtures.
The first season was won by Mumbai Indians and the 2nd season trophy was lifted by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Royal Challengers Bangalore had a very bumpy ride last year as they finished at the 3rd spot in the point table with 4 wins and 4 losses. Their net run rate stood at +0.306.
Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to qualify for the playoffs and defeated Mumbai Indians in the playoff to cement their space in the final game against Delhi Capitals. It was a low-scoring fixture and an easy win for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous edition.
