The time has come to witness the 13th season of the Caribbean Premier League. One of the most anticipated T20 cricket leagues, CPL 2025, will begin on 15th August, with the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots vs Antigua & Barbuda Falcons match at the Warner Park, St Kitts.
Over the years, the Caribbean Premier League has become one of the most watched T20 cricket leagues. It has slowly and gradually gained momentum in the domestic cricket of the West Indies and brings hope to revive the quality of cricket in the country. The tournament will take place over a span of 37 days, and the final fixture is scheduled to take place on 21st September.
There are a total of 6 teams which are part of the competition. These 6 teams will play the group stage matches in a round-robin format, where all the teams play ten matches. The top 4 teams will qualify for the playoff stage, and out of the playoff stage, we will see the top two teams clashing for the trophy in the final game.
Saint Lucia Kings were the winners of CPL 2024, and hence they will be defending their title this year. The previous edition was a bumpy ride for Saint Lucia Kings as they finished the group stage in 2nd place with 7 wins and 3 losses. Their net run rate stood at +0.673.
The Kings qualified for the playoffs and met the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the first playoff and in the final game. They defeated the Warriors on both occasions to clinch the trophy for CPL 2024, and hence their winning odds will be better on the legal betting apps in India.
Guyana Amazon Warriors, the runners-up for CPL 2024, were the table toppers last year. They also scored 7 wins and witnessed 3 losses at the group stage, but their net run rate was +0.799.
Trinbago Knight Riders stood at the 3rd spot in the point table, also with 7 wins and 3 losses. Their net run rate stood at +0.404. They lost their playoff fixture and were eliminated by Barbados Royals. The team management will be hoping a better result from the team this year.
