Deepti Sharma Eyes T20 Women's World Cup Victory for India

India’s Women’s Team India will be seen in action during the upcoming T20 World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to begin from 3rd October and India’s campaign will begin from 4th October in their first fixture against New Zealand.

India’s ferocious all-rounder, Deepti Sharma, recently opened up about the team’s preparations for the tournament. She has a commendable track record for the team and she has come out as a match-winner for the team on multiple occasions.

"There is a lot of excitement as World Cup as it comes after 2 years," she was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. She further added that “every individual at home is eagerly awaiting this trophy and so is their team."

 

In regards to the competition against the other teams, Deepti said that all teams are major competitions of India. However, she also talked about India’s rivalry with Australia on the international platform.

Deepti has been a brilliant performer for team India and in the Women’s Premier League. While expressing her desire to continue to perform in the league, she said "I want to continue with the preparations I have done so far and repeat my performance in Women's Premier League (WPL), international and domestic cricket."

 

There has been a sudden rise in popularity of Women’s cricket in India. The women’s division of Indian cricket has performed fabulously in recent times and they are one of the contenders for the trophy.

"Our lives changed with the World Cup performances and WPL” said Deepti while acknowledging the popularity of Women cricketers in India.
