New Captain Deepti Sharma to Lead UP Warriorz

- She earned the title of being the first-ever bowler to make a hat-trick in WPL history.
Another title Deepti won was Icc’s 2024 T20I Women Team of the Year. It was a combined effort of Richa Ghosh and Smriti Mandhana who will be Royal Challenger’s Bengaluru Defending Champions in WPL 2025.
Deepti Held India’s Vice-Captaincy on Domestic Level
Deepti is the right choice for captaincy of UP Warriorz in WPL 2025 as she buckles up the game with the required pace. Under her leadership, Indian women’s team was able to finish as runner-up in final of the T20 2022 Women’s.
Other senior players to counsel Deepti Sharma at the Franchise will include Chamari Athapaththu of Sri Lanka and Tahlia McGrath of Australia. Both are poised leaders of their respective international teams. Deepti would retain the position as the fourth WPL Indian Captain after Smriti, Sneh Rana, and Harmanpreet Kaur.
