“Every match is important because of the World Test Championship,” says India’s young Prodigy Yashaswi Jaiswal

India’s young and dynamic left-hander - Yashaswi Jaiswal believes that every player of Team India will have to play their best quality of cricket in the upcoming Test series in the next few months.

“Every match is important because of the World Test Championship. You have to make sure you give your best as every win counts. Any opportunity to play for India is incredible, and representing the country is the biggest motivation that I have," said Jaiswal to JioCinema.

He also expressed his views on Bangaldesh’s series win against Pakistan. Jaiswal said that Bangladesh has always come out as a strong opponent and they have played well in recent times.

Team India will be facing Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia in the red-ball format in the upcoming months. Yashaswi Jaiswal is expected to be part of the playing XI for all the Test fixtures.

Yashaswi Jaiswal made headlines in his debut match against the West Indies. He scored 171 runs in his debut game. He also scored 2 double hundreds back to back against England in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot.

The 22-year-old Yashaswi Jaiswal had a dream start to his career with Team India in the Test format. He has been part of 9 Test matches and has already scored 1028 runs at an average of 68.5 with a strike rate of 70.1.

Jaiswal also has 3 hundreds and 4 fifties on his name. He will play a crucial role for the team in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia.

When it comes to Yashaswi’s performance at home, he has dominated the numbers. His average stands at 89 with a strike rate of 79.91 at home.

However, the scenario completely changes when it comes to away fixtures. Yashaswi carries an average of 45.14 in away fixtures and has a strike rate of 54.86.

Currently, Yashaswi is part of India’s B team in the Duleep Trophy. He opened the match and scored 30 off 59 at a strike rate of 50.85 in the first inning.

India’s Test next series is against Bangladesh. The visitors are coming to play against India after a fabulous series win over Pakistan by 2-0.
