Harry Brook becomes England’s first triple centurion in Test cricket since 1990

Pakistan vs England Test Series has begun and the series is in media for all the right reasons. Harry Brook has made headlines because of his fabulous performance in the first inning for England.
After 34 years, Harry Brook has become the first English batsman to score a triple century in Test cricket. Batting at number 5, Brook was playing the “Bazball” style and scored 317 off 322 balls at a strike rate of 98.45. His innings included 29 boundaries and 3 maximums.

The visitors were in trouble as the hosts played exceptionally well in the 1st innings and scored 556 runs. Abdullah Shafique and Babar Azam were the primary scorers for the team from the top order.
Abdullah Shafique started the game and scored 102 off 184 balls at a strike rate of 55.43. Saim Ayub departed early but Skipper Shan Masood continued the momentum and scored 151 off 177 balls at a strike rate of 85.31.
Saud Shakeel also contributed with 82 off 177 balls at a strike rate of 46.33 from the middle order. From the lower end, Salman Ali Agha scored 104 off 119 runs at a strike rate of 87.39.
England started on an average note as Zak Crawly (78 off 85 balls) and skipper Ollie Pope (0 off 2 balls) gave a slow start to the team. However, Joe Root came at number 3 and scored 262 off 375 balls at a strike rate of 69.87.
However, it was Harry Brook’s innings that was the highlight of the game. His dominating performance in the 1st Test helped England to score a comfortable win over Pakistan.

More than 1500 runs were scored across 4 days of the 1st Test fixture. Critics have questioned the pitch of Multan Cricket Stadium for the same. It was an unexpected outcome and the bowlers were unable to get results.
England had a record-breaking partnership of 454 runs and Harry Brook completely decimated Pakistan’s bowling attack. Things were not at all in favour of pace bowlers and hence the PCB has been held responsible for the outcome by cricket experts across the globe.
