After 8 years of absence, the ICC Champions Trophy will be making its comeback in international cricket. There will be 8 teams fighting for the prestigious trophy in 2025 as the event will be hosted by Pakistan.
The previous season of the Champions Trophy took place in 2017 and it was hosted by England and Wales. India and Pakistan gave the perfect end to the tournament as the arch-rivals reached the final fixture and Pakistan lifted the trophy for the first time.
ICC Champions Trophy is considered the most elite tournament in international cricket after the ICC World Cup. It will be a thrilling affair between the eight teams and will bring back the memories of the previous events.

The tournament is set to begin on 19th February 2025 and the final fixture is scheduled to take place on 9th March 2025. Four top teams from each group will qualify for the semi-final and after two semi-finals, the final fixture between the two teams will take place in Lahore on 9th March 2025.
The Dilemma of India Traveling to Pakistan
India and Pakistan don’t have good political relationships and because of the same reasons both countries don’t play any bilateral series against each other. BCCI has also decided that Team India not travel to Pakistan for any cricket tournaments.
However, discussions are still underway on whether India will play in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan or not. No concrete decision has taken place as of now.
