IPL 2025 - Costliest Players from the IPL 2025 Mega Auction
The Indian Premier League is in the news and this time it is because of the recently held mega auction. Jeddah hosted the IPL 2025 mega auction this year and the event came out to be profitable for some of the star players.
IPL 2025 is all set to begin in March 2025 and the event will have some major changes this year. It is because of the IPL mega auctions, that took after 2 years, some star players will be seen wearing a new jersey.
The last time IPL mega auctions took place was in 2021 and that was the time when two new teams were introduced in the league. However, the cash-rich league has again made headlines because of its hefty contracts for deserving players.
In the recently held mega auctions, a total of 89 players were sold. Out of the total players, 62 were international players. During the auctions, 8 times RTM rule was used by the franchises and a total of ₹639.15 crore was spent.
During the auctions, Rishabh Pant turned out to be the most expensive player in the history of IPL. At first, it was Shreyas Iyer but eventually, Pant took over him and was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for a price tag of INR 27 Crore.
In overseas players, Jos Buttler made headlines again. He came out to be the most expensive foreign player and was sold to Gujarat Titans with a price tag of INR 15.75 Crore. As the auctions have come to an end, IPL online betting will begin.
