IPL 2025: James Anderson to Make his IPL Debut

IPL 2025 mega auctions are scheduled to take place later this month. There are more than 1,574 who have registered for the mega auction but only a few will be able to receive a contract. Online IPL betting will pick up the pace as the new season gets closer.

One name that is making headlines is England’s former Test pacer, James Anderson. The test specialist has never been part of the Indian Premier League but he has recently expressed his desire to play in the league and appear for the mega auctions.

“The feedback on social media has been amazing. I didn’t expect it to kick up this much of a fuss. But I really want to experience it because everyone says it’s an amazing tournament,” said Anderson in an interview with the Guardian.

Earlier this year, James Anderson said goodbye to international cricket and his last Test fixture came against West Indies. However, he is still active as a bowling mentor to the England Cricket Team.

James Anderson has kept his base price at INR 1.25 Crore for the IPL 2025 mega auction. It is not necessary that all the franchises might bid for him but there will be a few smart franchises who might take their chance to offer him a contract.

1) Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings will definitely bid for Anderson because they are known to hire some of the best-experienced players for guidance to their youngsters. They already have MS Dhoni who has served the franchise for 16 years and the presence of James Anderson will only add to the value of the team. Chennai Super Kings are also known to give the opportunity to some of the young guns from domestic cricket and these young players might get a big learning from James Anderson for IPL 2025.

2) Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians is one of the most dominating franchises in the Indian Premier League. They have won the trophy five times and in order to continue their dominance, James Anderson can be of huge help. Money is not a problem for Mumbai Indians and hence the bid can go to any extent. The knowledge James Anderson has can be helpful for the pacers like Jasprit Bumrah who already is a ferocious pacer in the team. If things go right, we might see the deadly combination of James Anderson and Jasprit Bumrah in IPL 2025.
