IPL 2025 - Jasprit Bumrah To Make A Comeback for Mumbai Indians

The 5-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have finally received a major boost on Saturday for IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians’ ace pacer and India’s bowling sensation, Jasprit Bumrah, is all set to make his appearance in the next two days.
Jasprit Bumrah has received a clearance certificate from the Centre of Excellence, formally known as NCA, to join and play for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. He was struggling from a back injury since the return of team India from Australia after playing Border Gavaskar Trophy.
To fully feature in an IPL fixture, Jasprit Bumrah will have to be part of two practice matches. According to the sources, Jasprit Bumrah is expected to make his official presence for the team against Delhi Capitals match, which is scheduled to take place on 13th April at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
After joining the camp, the speedster will miss out Mumbai Indians’ clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore, which is scheduled to take place on 7th April. The return of Jasprit Bumrah will be a huge boost to the bowling unit of the Mumbai Indians. He and Trent Boult will be expected to combine their pace at the start of every game once Bumrah makes his official return.

Mumbai Indians’ Struggles Without Jasprit Bumrah
The Mumbai Indians are not having a positive season this year again. They currently stand at the 7th spot in the point table with a single win and three losses. Their net run rate stands at +0.108.
Their primary struggle lies in their top order where former skipper Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton have been a complete failure. Rohit Sharma has managed to collect just 21 runs in the last 3 fixtures at an average of 7. Ryan Rickelton has scored 91 runs in 4 matches at an average of 30.33.
In their batting unit. Suryakumar Yadav has come out as the only consistent performer. He has scored 171 runs in 4 matches at an average of 57 with a strike rate of 161.32.
On the bowling front, skipper Hardik Pandya has done a good job. He has 8 wickets in his name in 3 fixtures at an economy of 7.50. However, except for him, no other pacer has been successful in the last few fixtures.
Once Jasprit Bumrah comes back in action, the Mumbai Indians will gain a major advantage at the starting spells. However, with his return, Mumbai’s primary advantage will be the death overs. As of now, they don’t have a single death over specialists who can control the run rate of the opposition during the death overs.
The Mumbai Indians desperately need good control when it comes to their bowling unit. This is because of their weak batting lineup and the failure of key players in the team.
