IPL 2025 Mega Auction is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. All the franchises have already finalised their retention list and now the time has come for them to build the rest of the team through the mega auction.
Different franchises will adopt different strategies during the mega auction. Their strategies will depend on the retained players but one thing that will remain common among all the franchises will be to target some of the best spinners from the draft.
Indian pitches have always shown extra support for spin bowling. In the past, spinners have always come out on top whenever a team needed them to perform and turn things around.
This year as well IPL will see spinners becoming the real match-winners for their respective teams. Historically, spinners always have the advantage over the pacers and the proof of that in the list of top highest wicket-takers in IPL, 6 are the spin bowlers.
As the new season comes closer, IPL betting will also take the spotlight.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction - Top Spinners to Target
1) Yuzvendra Chahal
After serving Rajasthan Royals for 2 years, Yuzvendra Chahal was released from the team. Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in the history of IPL with 205 wickets in 160 fixtures at an average of 22.44 and an economy of 7.84. The only downside of having Chahal on the team is that he has not been in action regarding international cricket.
Yuzvendra Chahal has not been in the right form in recent times and he last played a T20 international in 2023 against West Indies. He is also out of the team for a long time and that can take a hit on his confidence this year.

Chahal was the orange cap winner in the IPL 2022 edition and in IPL 2023, he was the 5th highest wicket-taker. However, in IPL 2024, he was the 9th-highest wicket-taker.
2) Ravichandran Ashwin
Like Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin has also been released from Rajasthan Royals. Ashwin has been a pillar when it comes to the red-ball format but in the last few years, white-ball cricket has not been his forte.
However, when it comes to IPL, Ashwin will always be in demand because of his experience in the league. He is the 6th leading wicket-taker in the league with 180 wickets in 212 fixtures at an economy of 7.12.

The previous edition of IPL was not as good as it was expected from Ashwin. However, a new team might bring a bag of better opportunities for the player.
3) Mitchell Santner
New Zealand’s white-ball skipper, Mitchell Santner, has been the name in the spotlight because of his recent success on Indian pitches. Since 2018, he has been part of Chennai Super Kings but the franchise has decided to part ways with the player.
Santner will appear in the IPL 2025 mega auction and there is a bidding war expected to take place for him. He will be in high demand from the franchises who are looking to strengthen their bowling attack.
