The schedule for the IPL 2025 mega auction has been announced and the time has come to see the franchises targeting their respective players. The retention list has been released already from the respective franchise and now the rest of the team will be built accordingly.
A total of 1574 players have registered themselves to appear for the big event and try their luck to get a heft contract from one of the franchises. Some interesting bidding wars are also expected to take place among the franchises during the event. Once the mega auctions are over, IPL online betting will pick up the pace amount the bettors from across the globe.
Whenever IPL mega auctions take place, the key for every franchise is to hire the services of some of the best players from the list. These players are given the job to upskill the team’s performance in the upcoming season. However, there have been multiple incidents in the history of the league in which the players have failed to perform.
BCCI and the IPL committee have made some major changes in the retention rule this year. According to the new rules, every franchise was allowed to retain a maximum of 5 players plus a player through the RTM rule.
RTM rule can be used by any franchise to retain any player after the auction by offering the highest bid amount. This has given the players to try their luck in the auctions to get a higher amount from the same team.
